Everything described in these new books is a confirmed canon, events within the game universe, without any character replacements or allusions to someone else. All the events of "Tales from the Pizzaplex" took place in parallel with the main storyline of the first games, and together led to what is shown in the last games.

I think he has a decent chunk of that was right personally. Seeing Ruin now. While playing FNAF World with his wife, Stephanie actually mentioned the map looks like a brain 6 years ago and MatPat was like "Nah". Funny it came back after all these years.
It's honestly sad how most of the FNAF series but especially the books have bad or very morbid endings. I read some of the books to catch up on a bit of lore before Ruin came out and let's just say most of them are bittersweet at best when it comes to the fates of characters.
