      Synopsis on MAL

      > In the distant future, individuals who adore the old way of life live in Kowloon Walled City—a slum city that serves as a refuge for those who long for the Hong Kong of the past. Realtor Reiko Kujirai, however, craves for the new and exciting places in the area. In contrast, her only coworker, Hajime Kudou, enjoys the nostalgia the city invokes and is put off by anything modern that seeps past its walls. But despite their differing views and constant bickering on the most mundane of things, the two often find themselves enjoying each other’s company.
      >
      > One day, a prank gone wrong leads Hajime to make an unexpected advance toward Reiko, after which he swiftly apologizes for. Baffled by his actions, Reiko starts investigating for possible explanations, only to discover a past that she has no memory of.

    2. This is the second time a Jun Mayuzuki manga gets both an anime and a live-action movie in the same year. Talk about success!

    3. This is awesome! I have not kept current with the manga but I really enjoyed reading it, it had that vibe of normal-but-not-normal-at-all life in such an intriguing setting. Really looking forward to this. Very low-key slow burn mystery/romance.

    4. Oh hell yeah! This is going to be great. I’ve only just started reading it, but I’m a few volumes in now, and I can’t wait to see where it’s taking me. The twist at the end of volume one hit like a truck. It’s some good food.

    5. The manga is like an aesthetic blend of Chungking Express and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Writing-wise its a mature moody extra slowburn, the romance is fine but the mystery aspects can be frustrating. Pretty hyped for this one!

    6. If the artstyle didn’t clue you in, it’s from the author of After The Rain. It’s a very different series from that, though, so be wary.

    7. Very excited for this one. It was leaked months ago and the wait for the official announcement has been excruciating.
That said by what little info we have and the handful of animation cuts it might still be some time until the actual show gets here so probably late 2025 rather than say Spring.

    8. Holy shit. Definitely wasn’t expecting this.

I’ll say this will definitely live or die on the directing.

    9. Promoting the live action and the Anime in the same trailer is fascinating.

This one is a banger. I really look forward to their take on it in animation.

    10. well, get ready guys, this is a crazy ride… Its being quite a while since i read a chapter of this, but i quite liked everything i read 👍
