The breasts are what you have on the front of the thorax area. For humans, it corresponds to pectoral muscles and mammary glands. Since the mammary glands of women are visibly more developed than the ones of men, that’s what you generally think about when talking about a woman’s breasts. For men, the breasts are mostly the pectoral muscles and tiny mammary glands.
For non mammals it’s just the pectoral muscles and since birds need strong muscles there to operate their wings, it generally means more food.

The pectoralis major muscle is what we call breast meat. The pectoralis minor is behind that, and the supermarket sells that as chicken tenders.
