    1. Fuck, we’re consuming gourmet otome today.

It reminds me of when I would play literally any Telltale game and be as ‘evil’ as possible.

    2. Villainess’ are back on the menu! Some girls want to be the Heroine who gets all the guys, gets all the love and praise, and gets to shine so bright…but some girls idolize the Villainess’, who tell it like it is and stand their ground against the Heroine, no matter what the world throws at her. And it’s one such Villainess fangirl who gets reincarnated into the body of her favorite Villainess, and now that she has the opportunity she’s going to own it Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History.

The OP is pretty sweet and cute with Alicia growing up, dealing with the various figures in her life, swordfights, and her romance with Duke! We’ve even got him princess carrying her when she’s gone full Chuuni with the eyepatch.

Alicia such a high-spec Villainess her family is voiced by top tier seiyuu! Mai Nakahara as the mom! Kazuyuki Okitsu as the dad! Ryota Ohsaka and Kohei Amasaki as her brothers!

A black-haired Villainess with a dark magic attribute? Why do I feel like I’ve seen this before?

Alicia is nothing if not determined! She’ll put in the work, both in terms of exercise and reading, to become the most top-tier Villainess she can be!

I love how all the romance targets have color-coded hair to denote their magic affinity.

What luck that the Main Hero of the story and game, Prince Duke Seeker (Kaito Ishikawa!) was already Alicia’s favorite when she played the game! And she still finds him attractive, even if she’s fine leaving him to be romanced by the Heroine. Though her determination and grit already has caught his eye.

So is the eyecatch just going to be Alicia at every age with her making cute comments about herself?

Alicia looks so adorable in her training outfit and ponytail! And when she thinks keeping her work ethic a secret from her family makes her a Villainess!

Imagine asking an eight year old about complex political matters, though to Alicia’s credit no self-respecting Villainess could refuse a chance to plainly state facts and come up with legitimate political deals that will benefit the kingdom. Could any goody-goody Heroine do that?

Oh hey, Takehito Koyasu as Duke’s dad, the king! He seems to have a lot of respect for Alicia but it seems like the Heroine (who is, of course, a “Saint”) is fated to be with his son, though it seems like their union won’t exactly make everything so hunky dory…and that’s not even taking into account what Duke wants, when he only seems interested in Alicia. Who, for her part, is already willing to use the Villainess excuse to refuse to give back a diamond necklace he gave her.

The ED is really cute with child Alicia, her bunny plushy, and all her favorite sweets!

    3. Love my villainess anime, but man that Prince seems way too old to fall for an eight year old. Anyone know their ages?

I dunno about this, it felt like yet another otome villainess story that ticks many of the standard checkboxes, making it not much different than all the other ones before it. Giving this a few more episodes to see if things will turn out to be different.

    5. Shimmering-Sky on

Not sure what to expect out of this one other than “Oh neat, Kaito Ishikawa is in the main cast”, but I’m trying out another “Villainess” anime after 7th Time Loop back in Winter. Hoping this one’s fun too!

      – [lol alright then.](https://i.imgur.com/kVWqhaQ.png) [](#kotohoops)

      – [Good for her then?](https://i.imgur.com/IfZ5EJg.png)

      – [A title drop already, huh?](https://i.imgur.com/0eZgS39.png)

      – [Alicia’s ready to hit that grind, I see.](https://i.imgur.com/xeClJpD.png)

      – [Ah, to be the bookworm kid again.](https://i.imgur.com/wlteYEP.png) [](#kukuku2) I remember binge-reading through entire series in a day *regularly* back in middle/high school, the librarians at my schools knew me by name I’d be there so often.

      – [Now it makes sense why her brother told her to do that first.](https://i.imgur.com/L09V7oy.png) That and to make sure she *actually* wants to learn how to swordfight, of course.

      – [I love how this makes her family think there’s something wrong with her.](https://i.imgur.com/u6duk7i.png) [](#ohoho)

      – [First: LMAO @ “Prince Duke”. Second: He looks just like Sigurd from Fire Emblem but with short hair.](https://i.imgur.com/iYY8TIy.png)

      – [Pffffffff](https://i.imgur.com/vMuOSDP.png)

      – [Takehito Koyasu!](https://i.imgur.com/lUq9g8g.png) [](#rengehype)

      – [*Incredibly* one-track mind you’ve got there, Alicia.](https://i.imgur.com/YZGj8tJ.png)

      – [Ah, aka. the main character of the game?](https://i.imgur.com/0UYjQzf.png)

    6. SometimesMainSupport on

[The fuck is green magic?](https://i.imgur.com/0C0SzeH.png) Assuming this is a mistranslation for wind as his name is Gale and green’s often used for wind magic.

12-yo boy starts at the magic academy in 3 years -> 15-yo entrance. Alicia being 7-8 is 4-5 years younger than the love interest routes and the heroine is presumably the same age? idk, seems like a shaky premise. But it’s a villainess show, so obviously will keep watching.

    7. It’s funny how every main character in Villainess Otome doesn’t want to become the villain because they know how it will always end badly for them. I guess this show is unique because we have Alicia who [wakes up excited about being the villainess](https://i.imgur.com/rjLRl2l.jpeg). Instead of using her memories from her past life to avoid being exiled or killed, she seems to be [very excited to go down in history as a villainess.](https://i.imgur.com/ISB9Fwz.jpeg) She’s already getting ready [to refuse the Prince in the future](https://i.imgur.com/HHZINMd.jpeg). xD

Other than that though, most of the episode was your average start for this kind of isekai. Not gonna lie, besides Alicia being excited about being the villainess, the show hasn’t really done anything else to grab me. I’ll maybe give this a couple of episodes and see what else it offers.

    8. Frieren_and_Himmel on

Judging by the first episode alone, this might shape up to be my favorite ‘Villainess’ show ever.
      What a fun watch!

    9. Ok prediction time; the rose Alicia’s mother was carrying at the beginning will be the Black Rose and the reason she and the prince get together.

    10. Chibi Alicia cheering the real one on is a delight, hope they keep that up [](#akyuusqueel)

Love how she already has the Villainess act down pat and genuinely despises the Heroine

Would suck if Duke was forced to marry someone else though, he seems to already be having a slight crush on Alicia

    11. InsomniaEmperor on

Average virgin villainess: Uwu I don’t wanna die, I’m gonna be a goody two shoes girl.

Alicia: F*** it I’ll embrace the dark side then NTR the FMC ohohohoho.

We start with a training arc but she should take advice from Yumiella if she wants to max out her level quickly.

I’m glad the ML isn’t your stereotypical blonde dude, tho his eyes kinda look dead. And the height gap is real. Then Alicia’s brothers are on to him.

I did not expect Takehito Koyasu’s voice to come out of the king. I found it weird that he asks an eight year old girl complex political questions like this. Hmmm what are the chances he’s suspicious of Alicia’s sudden attitude change?

If the duke is fated to marry the FMC and Alicia is the NTR villain, I hope the FMC isn’t some pushover cause we need a competent FMC to bring out the villainess.
