    1. Good anime, not my fav of The season but It had a good charm

I would say, S2 when but cloverworks already has many upcoming shows so i can wait lol

    2. ObvsThrowaway5120 on

The power of friendship really crushed that pig face mfer. Dude was hot shit on that horse, off it not so much. Even though Hoshina lost his territory, they absolutely spanked the enemy. Had stabby Tin Tin going to town on a mfer lol. That guy is a monster. Tokiyuki’s secured himself some loyal allies in his fight to retake the country.

Out of all the new series this season, this one has been one of my favorites. Amazing animation aside, I really like the cast of characters. The villains give off a bit of that Golden Kamuy vibe with just how weird they are lol. I really hope we get another season. Gotta see how Tokiyuki’s journey plays out.

    3. AmethystItalian on

I didn’t expect them to actually make a joke about all the weird character designs, that’s amazing.

I’m still sad/surprised this show didn’t blow up, I find it SO much better than most shounens we get.

Will be hoping for more of this one as it felt like it had a bit of everything.. Great cast, fun action and really strong production values.

    4. And another one ends with much more to go but no S2 😔. Will miss the wild characters, vibrant animation ~~and random degeneracy~~.

May the hyrule clan live on.

    5. God, they sure are scumbags. As so many armies tend to be. LOL GENBA! Nice job being all silly like that to split up the troops. Kojiro doing a good job, lol at the way he’s describing people to help him. Of course Fubuki is so derp about food. He’s so very Goku-like.

So what I’m hearing is we need to do a Dempsey Roll while on a horse to win. How nice for how much Tokiyuki praises Kojiro. Nice, team work! God, that “Joker” wannabe douche needs to suffer the worst too. Hehe Fubuki totally gonna go take the head of that joker dude huh? Or try to. Also, look at Tokiyuki’s excitement. LOL at the crazy guy stabby stabby stabby. Nice, scare the shit outta that douche Joker-wannabe. Makes sense to want to keep an incompetent enemy leader in charge.

Good for them, saving their people and getting away. Losing territory doesn’t matter as much if you still have your lives/people. How nice for the gals to get to nap. LOL at Genba’s distraction. That was a fun season. Sure hope we get another.

    6. I love how everyone only knows Kojiro’s name because [of Tokiyuki bragging about him to everyone in the army.](https://i.imgur.com/4KYpX54.jpeg) Kojiro’s 1v1 horseback duel against Yonemaru was awesome though. It could’ve been a proper samurai duel but [the power difference between them](https://i.imgur.com/TZwttOt.jpeg) was just too big. It was only thanks [to Hoshina’s retainers](https://i.imgur.com/NESj9Pb.jpeg) that Kojiro was able [to land that awesome killing blow.](https://i.imgur.com/UWo4PtH.jpeg)

I really thought Fubuki was going for the provincial official’s head! [Threatening him](https://i.imgur.com/hJx4Xho.jpeg) and making him think [that the Suwa had incoming backup](https://i.imgur.com/GKW4DcH.jpeg) was more useful to them. I imagine if the official died, [Ichikawa would’ve taken command](https://i.imgur.com/0XaIdB3.jpeg) and they would’ve pressed the offensive instead of retreating as the official commanded him to.

What an action-packed ending for this show! They may have retreated and lost territories but they kinda won the battle at the end of the day. I really hope this isn’t the last time we’ll hear from this anime. I’m honestly surprised Season 2 hasn’t been announced but hopefully we’ll get one in the future. I’d love to see more of Tokiyuki and his wacky enemies in the future.

      – [Of course it was a trap.](https://i.imgur.com/HlP3Qtt.png)

      – [He could see those from behind?](https://i.imgur.com/8UDJXur.png) [](#kukuku)

      – [Fucking lmao, Fubuki pls.](https://i.imgur.com/PWDYPHK.png) [](#trololol)

      – [Ah shit…](https://i.imgur.com/pn0KUoM.png)

      – [One blow, get!](https://i.imgur.com/D28XwwW.png) [](#faito) It was so small though…

      – [Heh, get fucked by your own hubris.](https://i.imgur.com/yM7fF74.png)

      – [Aha, makes sense.](https://i.imgur.com/OuNsLam.png) They can’t keep fucking up stuff with faulty strategies if they’re dead. [](#harukathink)

      – [Good for them.](https://i.imgur.com/X6hCfh1.png)

      – [Pfffffffff](https://i.imgur.com/ow4CnCE.png) [](#laughter)

    8. Kojiro stuffing manju in Fubuki’s mouth lmao

Been a fan of the manga since day 1 so I’m super happy to see it getting an excellent adaptation. Eagerly awaiting s2 announcement!

    9. And that was the end of that season. An explosive finish with continued character development, strategy and more. Kojiro learning about generalmanship from his enemy. Tokiyuki building trust with his allies.. and crazy stabbing guy stabbing away. And i liked how Fubuki kept the official alive as he recognized he would be of more use alive being a problem than dead.

In the end they lost half the territory, but most of the seasoned warriors came out of it alive and they gained valuable experience.

Now to wait for a Second season. Sadly no announcement right off the bat.

    10. The direction and art design of this show is amazing. I love how experimental it was. Very different from the vast majority of anime.

But the slapstick humor and sudden tone change is definitely off putting. Felt like the show is written by two different people.

    11. Genshin_WhiteKnight on

The boys really showing off their stuff for the finale, wished we could have seen more of Ayako and Shizuku though. Overall, a great watch with fun characters, vibrant artstyle and creative directing and animation. Some people did not like the tone-shifts but I quite enjoyed it, made the series more unique and memorable compared to other shonens. Also, Kamakura Style probably my favourite ED of the season.

    12. Last episode of my Tokiyuki 😢.

That was a hell of a way to end the season! Brought together everything Tokiyuki has worked on over the season and all the allies he’s made. Definitely an escape for the ages. Defeating Yonemaru took Tokiyuki using all the skills he’s honed so far and Cloverworks as usual cooked with that. Leaving his head on is also a testament to how kind Tokiyuki is.

Kojiro not knowing his subordinate names and just calling them by their descriptions is killing me. Can’t effectively lead people if you don’t even know who they are! But it’s a learning experience. If this season of Nigewaka was a class, helping the Hoshina party escape was the final exam and they all passed. Still a ways to go but the elusive warriors are on the right path.

Tokiyuki taking up the rear guard as they retreated was a good decision because it gained him even more respect and trust from the Hoshina. Now when it comes time for the big battle against Ashikaga, they’ll have no qualms about helping him out. Good idea by Fubuki to leave the incompetent general alive too, another seasonal, Maogun had a similar situation come up earlier this season and I remember being annoyed the MC left the guy alive, but it does make a lot more sense to let them destroy themselves. Work smarter not harder

Really gonna miss this show and the cast so much. It’s such a long path ahead for Tokiyuki and his friends to retake Japan and get revenge, but I’m happy to be right there with them 👍

      [review](https://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=538753)

    13. I know Cloverworks has so much on its plate, but please bring this show back for season 2. It was incredible. They were flexing so hard on this one and it’s probably the best Animation of any show this year.

    14. What a disappointment…

there is no second season announcement. 🙁

I know the manga sales increased considerably since the anime started so hopefully there will be a second season down the line.

    15. Very conservative episode for a finale. Not sure whether I enjoyed this show that much to watch more, but that ED is one I’ll best listening to for a long time

    16. This is definitely my favorite show of the season and honestly has probably managed to take a spot in the ranks of one of my favorite shows of all time – there’s something about it that just hits a lot of things I enjoy in a work of art. Visually stunning, not afraid to do creative things with the medium of animation, absurdist humor contrasted with absolute brutality, decent story, fun characters – I’ll be devastated if there isn’t a season 2.

Something that’s consistantly had me hooked and curious the entire season is that I swear, if it wasn’t for the CG horses and the fact this was made in 2024, I could have seen this being a show made in the late 90s or early 2000s. There are things about it – the color palette, the slight wobble in the animation that makes it look like it is individual animation cels between swapped out instead of a fully digital production, the hand-painted backgrounds, the way the light *sparkles* off of the water in that last shot of Tokiyuki – it all just seems like a really loving tribute to an older style of animation, while still doing some really incrediblely creative things with the medium.

I love it. I want to see more. Is it perfect? Of course not, but tbh I’m willing to give a bit of the benefit of the doubt when there are so many moments in this series that are absolutely masterful animation sequences.
