The action and the animation were pretty good I guess. But the character writing was mind numbing. It’s so hard to believe in that much outright contrived “misunderstanding”. The author made the MC dumb as a bag of rocks and then wrote a whole story about it

I mean, yeah he parried everything, even intelligence lol, although I did find it entertaining the same as the ossan which got better every episode moving forward.
I get some people were expecting him to learn he’s actually broken but it’s the manga running joke, like Shounen manga protags being hungry all the time

I don’t doubt it. It did numbers in Muse Asia as well.
Noor parried low audience figures and cancellation.

Pretty surprised, this one was super mid. Especially because I feel like ossan adventurer had a really similar premise and plot but felt like it was better executed

I parry everything was fun, those who can appreciate the male lead perseverance and belief are rewarded with an enjoyable show.
I’m glad it got attention since i wouldn’t mind a second season.

ill be honest
it was one of the dumbest anime with a simple overpowered mc plot
but the mc is so honest and wholesome that the entire thing was endearing and fun. seeing him work so hard to achieve op status and giving the same motivation to others did it for me even if he has single digit iq. this was my comfort show
you could say he just parried away the bad reviews

I did like this show. And that I Parry a Dragon episode was all kinds of hype. But, I ended up enjoying the Ossan show more – a lot of it because even though the MC also started out ignorant of his overpowered strength, he became fully aware of it and eventually took some agency and chose to do some meaningful actions with it.

I parried this show after ep 5. The mc was just so frustratingly dense.

How? How can people like watching a show where the mc is way beyond dense. Like way beyond what dense is. He parried dense and went beyond being a moron. Mc could have a woman jump on his dick and he would be like “hey did you know you lost your pants? Do you need help finding them?”

It’s the genre that’s popular, not the show. The Ossan Adventurer was also popular and it had the worst animation I’ve ever seen, MC is also an idiot, and no story to speak of.

This survey is for the period from September 9 to September 15, but the episode on September 4 was a recap and it was apparently not available on Abema. This may be related here.
You can see the view counts for each episode on Abema and the average view count for I Parry Everything seems to be around 50 million per episode. Oshi no Ko has some fluctuations in view counts, and episode #21 was indeed a bit low at under 60 million, but it still surpassed episodes #10 and #11 of I Parry Everything.

This show is so much fun, started one episode few days ago and end up finishing it in a day. The MC is so dense it’s hilarious

The parrying the entire army episode was pretty hilarious. But that was the highlight. The final episode was a weak summary to me.

Some people may not have liked it but for me, it’s like a gentle guilty pleasure. it’s just fun with him being oblivious to everything while everyone is like amazed by him. It’s like Overlord somewhat.

I think it was doing very well the whole season, i even saw the author’s tweets. They were pretty happy with the adaptation if i remember it correctly.

Wow, just shows you how different the audience is between Japan and the west.

I do not understand why everybody dogpiled on this one. People complaining about dense mc and contrived plot in the same season 2.5DS is on all the trend charts is ironic to me. So many of the most popular anime have dumb as rocks mcs. At least Noor has a good in-universe reason to be dense.

The show was so much stupid fun. I am surprised to see it be number one anywhere. I don’t know much about abema. It’s an online streaming site. Is anime a focus there?
Or like, number one on peacock or someplace with a small anime catalog?

Surprising to redditors, as usual.
There are way more people who prefer simple, straightforward entertainment.

This shows JP likes trash characters that are overly humble and are extremely dense.
This is why more recent isekai trash from JP that are made by random newbie authors have those dumbass MC’s that are overly humble and borderline bragging how OP they are and keeps downplaying themselves saying that “they’re just doing their job” bullshit.

Not surprised with how meh this season went. Any mediocre one had a shot, nothing was really running away with it.

I always say to people, c’mon this is a fantasy series, there’s nuclear breathing dragon and mountain destroying laser here, why is the fact that MC is dumb hillbilly (even he literally lived alone in mountain) is hard to accept.

The manga is good but from a story perspective it’s just average.

I see this show is treated in Japan like America treats reality TV, just can’t get enough of this stuff.
Though it does show me that mindless entertainment is still a top draw all over the world, so if the masses eat it up, keep them shovels going!

It was #1 pretty much every week iirc. The LNs and manga are doing well too. The series [reached 500k copies in circulation](https://x.com/nabe4k/status/1838817583497384157?t=NSUoacRem8TL2H5EY8rrWg&s=19) 2 months ago and [reached 1 million copies in circulation](https://x.com/nabe4k/status/1838817581840711751?t=WA3sWAAq7gIl7Lu-58-JEQ&s=19) 2 days ago.
