Before i started this anime i didnt know nothing about Nier, Yoko Taro and all his Games.
Now, i wanna tell Yoko a few Things and also congrats him because this is a masterpiece and One of best anime i ever see
I would say i am gonna miss characters but what characters lmao.

Never thought in the end, it would come down to the Pods. 42 kinda became self-aware like the androids and machines I guess. Bro telling the other units to “suck it” was awesome. Even though the little homie died, it seems at the end 9S and 2B “revived.”
Kind of a bittersweet end, all in all. Came in as an anime-only which was an experience. This was a good series. From the animation to the characters to the plot, it was all quite good. So for you folks who played the games, is this considered the “good end”?

Well that certainly aged well, didn’t it. Even though the song gets interrupted midway in the “credits,” they dropped it at the right time halfway through the episode when A2 comments on how beautiful the world is and the area around her crumbles.
The piano for the song even plays in the last minute when we see 9S and 2B together again.

Cinema. The juxtaposition at the start, 9S’s journey that has led to him break the world, A2’s journey that has led her to save it. A wonderful story brilliantly written to show the changes that can occur within a person given the trials they go through, the desire to fight against that which seems insurmountable.
After some thought, what I like the most about this anime is the idea of will. From A2, 9S, 2B, down to the androids growing will to against their initial reason for creation and fight.
It’s great, but pod 153 and pod 042, as surprising as it was to me, personified it best. I did not expect to cry for them, but man they really stole the second half of this great episode. 042 going against final orders, considering that he has emotions, that he has a wish, and 153, despite being unable to understand it at the beginning taking in the information from 042 and gaining her own will.
Wow. There is so much to rave about this show, the journey is just fantastic, that ending felt like such a reward to audience for continuing despite the pain we have all felt.
I hope more people watch this in the future, it is amazing. 10/10, someone please tell who was that beautiful lady that winks.
As a fan of the game, I think that was a really good adaptation. Obviously some stuff like the gameplay fuckery the games do gets missed, but I think the show made up for it with extra scenes and the more animated representation of each character from moment to moment, which obviously is less expressive when you’re just running around in-game. Also wasn’t that one of the chicks from Drakengard? Is that a teaser?
I don’t think there was a single episode in this cour where I didn’t tear up, definitely my favorite anime of this season. The voice actor for 9S was absolutely phenomenal and you could 100% feel the emotions.
Also the ending being expanded by just a few seconds in contrast to the game was all I needed

The pod finale we were waiting for! It looked like Pod 153 pulled a Navi from Ocarina of Time and yeeted away.. . Pod 042, you are a giga chad. A rollercoaster conclusion all things considered!

Honestly, one of the better anime adaptations of a videogame I saw in a while. Props to A-1 Pictures to deliver this masterpiece to the end and Yoko Taro for bringing us a beautiful story.
Now, the question is… Replicant Anime when? (I know that would be an ordeal even bigger considering the JP VA for Kaine passed away recently)…

Good adaptation over all. They used the different medium to flesh out some of the side characters (which you could only read up on in the game for obvious reasons), so for that alone, it’s worth it imo. Of course, I knew it was impossible to recreate the endings from the game, but I really liked the stronger focus on the Pods’s decision in this version. Still feels it could have been a bit longer in certain aspects. Also, I was fully expecting the whole puppet show to be part of the ending as much as they used it, but I guess that wouldn’t have worked. Though, knowing Yoko Taro, he could have found a way if he wanted to.
MASTER. FUCKING. CLASS. ADAPTATION.
I’m stunned, this season was too good.
Hearing Weight of the World playing just broke me. Man Alternate [E]den. Thank you Yoko Taro yet again. Thank you A1. After experiencing the game, this was an amazing experience yet again. Now excuse me as I will go resume my crying

Yeah Weight of the World still makes me a sobbing mess, doesn’t help that the episode was really damn good and emotional at the point it played.
Also, pod 042 and 153 are the GOATs, no notes, absolute units.
And finally Accord coming in with the assist to literally alter the ending for the anime, peak.

wait so at the end did they restore their memories and live happily ever after on a planet that basically has nothing left? Also whos the purple lady at the end?
Wew look at that animation and fight fun times. 9S sure gone full yandere. Also just being real mean. Quite the option from the machine lifeforms. So what the heck did A2 do? The heck? deleting of all data? But why? You go, lil pods. Quite the good use of space laser hehe. Dang, them pods were tough. Huh, so did they get repaired/memories restored by the pods? Still quite a crazy ending. GImme the others. A2 got long hair again.
With still half of the episode left [after A2 sacrificed herself](https://i.imgur.com/uNM9IOM.jpeg) and the credits began rolling, I wondered what Yoko Taro had prepared for us. The man did not disappoint. I love how as soon as [Pod 153 started preparing deletion of data](https://i.imgur.com/UKRiQuk.jpeg), Pod 042 saves the fucking day and tries [to convince Pod 153 that there is another way.](https://i.imgur.com/DIbA7Kf.jpeg)
It’s amazing how much emotion [a robotic voice can convey as Pod 042 was monologuing](https://i.imgur.com/LuaJ99L.jpeg) about his emotions and his prayers. And I genuinely cheered [when he told those other pods to “Suck it”.](https://i.imgur.com/IeBbwJo.jpeg) Watching Pod 042 [almost got destroyed while thinking of 2B had me tearing up though.](https://i.imgur.com/1YHr9uP.jpeg) That was such an amazing scene.
[Who knew these two little pods would be the MVP of the finale.](https://i.imgur.com/A3KkPhF.jpeg) I love how it’s the two of them against the literal YoRHa insignia. What a wild ending for the series! Cour 1 may have been shaky but they really brought it back with cour 2. And they weren’t kidding when they said we’re getting something different for the anime! Yoko Taro you absolute madlad, you’ve done it again! I wonder what this ending implies for the whole Nier continuity, especially with Accord interfering with the timeline. Whatever it is, if this leads us to more new Nier content in the future, I am all for it!

There is a reason that Automata will always remain my favorite game because I truly believe that it was perfect. This series turned out to be phenomenal even with the rough start and I’m just so happy I got to experience so many of these moments again along with all the new scenes they added in.
Keep an eye out for possible announcements during TGS. I’m certain they timed airing last episode with it.

I should not have watched this at the office.
It’s kind of crazy how this went from an okay adaptation with production issues in season 1 to an absolutely fantastic homage to the original game with season 2.
Amazing adaptation Cour 1 had me a little nervous about the possible changes but when Cour 2 started the direction flowed even better than the original game and some story decisions were more powerful than the game. I felt for A2’s story so much more in the anime than ever before and the pods fighting for themselves and even using human terms is sick as fuck. I pray for 2B and 9S to find ultimate happiness in life and live happily together
This is my anime of the season A1 pictures is killing it recently.
The only thing missing is i hoped theyd somehow redo the shooting minigame in the credits (i know the pod fight was supposed to represent it technically speaking) complete with the choir version of weight of the world
Dumb question but something I wasn’t 100% certain of with Ending E, are 2B. 9S, and A2 alive at the end? Like, did the Pods fully rebuild them? Is the logic virus gone?
Can someone confirm if A2 is still alive? Or did she die from sacrificing herself to restore 2B and 9S?
The Hex codes say that 2B and 9S are alive. But A2? Does anyone know?
