Wow. That was the best episode of an already fantastic show. After the scene at the zoo, I was teary-eyed until the very end. The pain and determination that Komari was grappling with were so palpable, as was Nukumizu’s desperation to help, despite not really knowing how. Perhaps understandably, his usual empathy took a back seat to Komari’s obvious inability to speak publicly, and he fumbled, hard.
It may well have been possible that after the council meeting, Nukumizu would accept his failure to help Komari, give up, stop attending the literature club, and avoid the taps that Komari uses until they graduate. But that’s not what happened. If only we all had a Kaju and a Yanami to encourage us when we mess up.

This week’s ep just made me like Komari even more than I did. She’s such a sweet sensitive soul. When she said she had no friends, I instantly thought of our gang. She’s got friends, she just didn’t realize it. She wasn’t alone either, she had Nukumizu and Anna and Lemon by her side the whole time.
