      Sasuga Aqua, smooth as hell.

      > For the past decade and change, anyways…

Wait, does that mean Aqua was a playboy as Goro? No wonder he’s got 2 girls vying for his affections.

    3. ProgrammaticallyPea3 on

It’s been refreshing to see what Aqua can be like when he isn’t driven by an all-consuming obsession. But we knew it wouldn’t last long. There’s no way this cliffhanger is going to be resolved in two episodes, so hopefully we won’t have to wait much for S3.

Kana was adorable this episode, but I have to admit Akane stole the show in the second half. Her understanding of Aqua surpassed my expectations; I mean, she almost expected to be discarded at some point, yet she was willing to go as far as to kill a stranger if that was what Aqua needed. That’s devotion.

And I don’t know what I’d do if I were in her situation. She knows a part of the truth that Aqua has been chasing all his life, but disclosing it will wreck the happiness and tranquility that Aqua has finally started to regain.

    4. Previous episode:

      > Himekawa: “Hey stop trying to seduce Kana and Akane at the same time.”

      > Aqua: “I’m doing no such thing.”

This episode: Aqua goes on dates with both Kana and Akane.

    5. Prince-Dizzytoon on

Kana is really the cutest! Although Akane was really cute this week too.

I wonder why they hid the VA of the Man in Sunglasses in the credits.

    6. mr_miscellaneous123 on

      > At long last… I’m free.

Is that why Aqua was hunched over a mirror in an earlier episode going “Tatak-Ai, Tatak-Ai”?

    7. ObvsThrowaway5120 on

That “date” with Kana was so cute. I like how every little thing Aqua did got her kinda flustered. And then the dinner at the steak spot was pretty smooth.

As much as I like Kana, I really like Akane. She’s very perceptive and incredibly sharp but also has a kinda cute and somewhat innocent side to her. But man, she put the pieces together regarding Aqua’s revenge pretty quick. Murder-suicide is fishy as all hell. There was no way it was over and it looks like I’m right. The mfer showed up in the end and walked right past Ruby. Who is this bastard, really?

    8. The moment Aqua inevitably discovers whatever it is that’ll push him back to hunting for Ai’s true murderer (cause I don’t believe it was Himekawa’s father), it’s gonna be so depressing to watch him revert back to being the depressed version of himself.

I wish I could just watch endless episodes of him being happy enjoying his life 🙁

edit: after that ending, yep. I guess I won’t see him living happy for long 🫠

    9. a reminder Aqua was a doctor graduated from Tokyo, he probably dating alot around that area. he has his own dating protocol, a pro.

Akane down bad! but she’s the cutest. that art when she hug Aqua, I feel the warm in my heart. one of her best trait is she’s quick to follow the conversation, she knew that Aqua is not using his brain for this moment. carry on detective Akane, Aqua is already found his fake peace.

the daddy is here! he’s a long hair Aqua, look how proud he was when he saw Ruby.

    10. mr_miscellaneous123 on

Aqua (and us) all assumed that Taiki’s dad cheated on his wife with Ai.

But Akane probably realised that it could be that the wife cheated on her husband… [with the one who appeared at the end, since he looks so much more like Aqua and Ruby.](https://imgur.com/a/L4fWOoT)

    11. Damn, that whole sequence with Akane figuring it out and then Ruby at the graveyard was well done. I mean, there was a high chance it wouldn’t end like that, but they only had that mystery for one episode.

On the other spectrum, Aqua clearly learned from [the best ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoHztpjPFEE)when it comes to fighting for the bill.

    12. Well, now we know where Aqua and Ruby’s hair colour comes from.

Oh, and now Akane knows *more* than Aqua. This is going to go *so* well…

    13. Tough date clothing choices for Kana

      – Sophisticated
      – Sexy
      – Airport casual
      – Loli

I’d call any of them a winner!

    14. Akane’s dread was the highlight of this episode for me. Her reasoning, and honestly genius at this point, made it quick and easy for her to find a loophole in the logic but of course she cares too much for Aqua to disclose.

As for Aqua, I love to see him happy and at peace. Looking forward to the future is a wonderful thing he can enjoy, though it seems that won’t last long with the ending reveal.

On a side, leaving Akane is a major L for Aqua in my book. She’s easily best girl and already shows great care for Aqua, even if she is confused as to whether or not she has feelings for him her actions clearly show it.

Looking forward to the last episode, though I believe it will be when Aqua is driven back into a hate ridden spiral which will break my heart. Will he go harder than ever? Will he drag Akane back as she may be of use? Lots to look forward to.

    15. This is hard to put into words, but this episode made me uncomfortable in a good way. It made me challenge everything with the whole experience thus far of the show:

So obviously, at the end of the very first episode, Aqua very forcefully vows revenge. Then, after S1 ends, we get an announcement for S2, and I’m like “Oh can’t wait to see if the revenge plotline has more relevance.” One year later, we get S2 and the flashbacks are so amazingly executed on top of Aqua doubling down on living solely for revenge.

But with the news he received, it’s portrayed as a soured victory, where the tone is “What was all that effort for, including my relationship with Akane?” Even as a viewer, it feels that same way where I’m questioning all the events that happened before, since in one way or another, they were stepping stones for Aqua’s revenge.

Then, when I saw Akane run off not knowing what to do, and a mysterious man walking by Ruby claiming Ruby is his child, I’m once again left on an uncomfortable cliffhanger. What great storytelling when this show is an emotional rollercoaster!

    16. Kana’s red, Akane’s blue.

      Kana’s abrasive, Akane’s soft-spoken.

Kana’s the “former genius child actress”, Akane’s the currently rising “genius actress”.

Kana adjusts her acting to others, Akane imposes her will.

      Kana eats takeout, Akane cooks.

Kana’s relationship with her mother is difficult at best; Akane’s quite close with hers.

And now we can add another contrast: Kana loves meat, Akane’s a vegetarian.

    17. LMAO Doga Kobo giveth and Doga Kobo taketh away from us kanabros, they changed the order of the dates to have kana first but then added the scene of kana in her room lmao

Loved that visual of the twin’s complicated family situation being slowly being replayed in Akane’s head

That last scene, chills, it was great
