As a proud Saori Hayami simp. I will watch Pseudo Harem with great interest.

Roshidere single handedly brought me back from depression induced anime watch hiatus.

      Praise such refined culture.

That being said, the show is seriously so beautiful, it reminded me how much and why I loved this world. I’m definitely enjoying it a lot.

      It has ‘diabete inducing’ vibes.
It also has some rom-com vibes.
It has some refind culture in it.
Slight drama vibes with some of the OP scenes.
Most of all, I legit feel happiness just watching how beautiful it is.

Oh, and of course. Seeing Alya’s, to some degree, fondness filled gaze is honestly soul soothing and healing.

    3. Week 1 of Summer with the first big hitters on the board as well as some late Spring entries. We all know though that this is really just the calm before the deer.

**Oshi no Ko** took top of the new Shows so far although it still had to settle for 3rd overall.

Great to see **Girls Band Cry** having a strong karma performance for its finale. With no legal English language stream for its entire run it truly was the little show that could.

Happy that **Yatagarasu** and **The Fable** are once more on the board. The former especially had a fantastic closer to ist first cour. It’s still on a short break until the 20th so there is time to catch up to it. I’d definitely recommend it.

This weekend had some fun premieres so far and I’m looking forward to next week and how they’ll fare.

Probably the last Demon Slayer Episode, or not.

They might split the movie into multiple episodes again so they can broadcast it in Japan or smth.

Do we get discussion thread for Movies during their screening time? or do we get it when the Blu-ray get released?

    5. Misaki just died from secondhand embarrassment again. Akira with them S-Tier drawing skills. Welcome back to the chart **The Fable**

Next week, Deer shall rule the karma rankings.

      Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan 🙇‍♂️

    7. Expensive-Ad7181 on

The latest episode of “oshi no ko” has been fantastic and better in every way compared to the manga counterpart.

    8. MT and DS both had pretty good finale will miss the heavy hitters this season, reckon it will take a while till we get high karma ep again maybe ToG.

Oshi no Ko with a good start as well loved the art direction in it.

This season we are feasting on rom coms with Roshidere and Pseudo harem.

    9. Mushoku Sundays are over but at least Monogatari is back, peak passing the torch to peak

    10. It’s nice to see [Yatagarasu](https://myanimelist.net/anime/56980/Karasu_wa_Aruji_wo_Erabanai) still on the chart, but it’s expected as things thin out between seasons.

[Suicide Squad Isekai](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55848/Isekai_Suicide_Squad) is dumb fun, as expected. The English dub released in the US 1 week late, so I’m 1 week late to start watching it.

There was a little thing in [Senpai is an Otokonoko](https://myanimelist.net/anime/54855/Senpai_wa_Otokonoko) that drew my attention as it could have simply been a logic-defying stylistic choice in character design, but it was addressed and implies some possibly well thought out drama in this otherwise lighthearted, fun slice of life series. I expect Saki, the energetic goofball, to be rather popular.

[Dungeon People](https://myanimelist.net/anime/56348/Dungeon_no_Naka_no_Hito) has some scenes where the protagonist spends a good bit of time giving a detailed analysis via internal monologue and during these scenes the other characters who are present keep themselves entertained as they wait for her to finish getting her thoughts together. The show seems like it will primarily be a CGDCT series, but we did get some surprisingly well animated action scenes in episode 1.

Demon Slayer may be a simple battle shounen, but damn that episode got me hyped for the movies coming up.

Roshidere and Giji Harem will big debut. Roshidere I am not too surprised about given the Ln and mangas popularity. Though god bless Doga Koba for giving us a high quality Ln RomCom adaptation. Which is something outside of Rascal we haven’t had much of as of late. Meanwhile, I didn’t realize Giji would be so high up, but man Saori Hayami is killing it as Rin. Might be the best fluff Romance of the season.

    12. I’m happy about **Hibike! Euphonium S3** which finished on such a high note, ending up on the 7th place!

[Finale was beautiful and I was deeply moved by it](https://imgchest.com/p/qe4gr5waryj), although I’m still pretty salty about that soli part xD

[Kumiko was a wonderful character](https://imgchest.com/p/agyve9x6j48) and grew up so much throughout the whole series. She’s definitely one of my favorite characters ever and I’ll miss her greatly.

Seems like Spring 2024 is officially over with all these finales, and Summer 2024 is looking to be an absolute romcom-ageddon.
Here were some of the new series that I thought were great:

      * **Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian** – Waifu romcom where the girl teases the guy, BUT she’s a tsundere AND also Russian. Fanservice included. Recommended if you are looking for culture, Russian or otherwise.
      * **Days with My Stepsister** – NOT a degenerate sibling-con anime, but a serious, introspective drama with a very calm and mundane atmosphere. If you’re here for the romance though, be warned that it’s a very slow burn.
      * **Pseudo Harem** – NOT a harem, just one girl acting out her different split personalities. Episode is structured as small skits of the two leads flirting with each other. Recommended if you just want an easily digestible dose of pure sugar or are a a fan of the VA Saori Hayami.
      * **Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin** – Lazy goddess gets sent to work the rice fields on some demon infested island. Its based on an indie video game and its adapted by PA Works so it’s pretty unique and has a lot of charm.
      * **Senpai is an Otokonoko** – Quite an interesting premise of a cross-dressing MC in a love triangle with a girl and a guy. Had a lot of comedic chibi parts (sometimes too many), but also looks like its going to have some serious drama.
      * **Shoushimin Series** – School mysteries or something. I’m not sure where the plot is going, and the main characters are intentionally written to be odd, but the visuals and cinematography are really good and I liked the vibe.
      * **The Elusive Samurai** – Historical samurai series. Probably the best premiere of the new series airing this season. The art, the animation and the directing is fantastic.
      * **Wistoria: Wand and Sword** – MC who can’t use magic goes to Hogwarts. The basic premise isn’t groundbreaking, but I was surpised by the quality of the first episode. Definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of action fantasy.

I’m very pleased **Girls Band Cry** managed to reach 8th position in /r/anime as its final episode.

    15. ExpiredMilknCheese on

I will miss **Mushoku** Sundays, but I’m looking forward to this season. Not a lot to watch for me, so it can give me time to catch up on earlier series I didn’t have time for.

I am heavily interested in watching sequels like **Oshi no ko** and **Tower of god**, but also new shows like the **Deer one** and **Alya**.

**Alya** especially made me catch up to the manga in one day

    16. Sad to see Code Geass being as low as it is. It’s been surprisingly great so far! Way better than the previous CG spin off.

    17. Oh wow, breaking 30k+ karma. That’s an 8459 karma increase from last week.

It is big premiere week + big finale week thanks to Mushoku Tensei getting 6k+ karma for the last episode of S2P2.

But the crazy big boost from a finale went to Demon Slayer with that +2171 karma to claim 2nd with 4424 karma and held off Oshi no Ko S2’s premiere from 2nd.

4195 karma for Oshi no Ko’s return is pretty good for adjusted standards in 2024 /r/anime.

Did announcements block Kaiju No.8’s finale? -201 karma is interesting.

Really like Pseudo-Harem’s start 1,836 karma. Hope it can stay above 1k karma throughout the season, but that might be asking a lot.

A modest, but nice boost for the Hibike! Euphonium series finale of 1434 karma. 8.75 score on MAL is probably the most impressive number there.

I see GIRLS BAND CRY crossing 1300 karma in its final episode and taking back a Top 10 spot. It was an unlicensed series, but it certainly made itself known throughout this season.
      _____
Favorite banner of the week: Got to be Kumiko and Hibike! Euphonium, but I do always love to see Suzukiri so Ranger Reject is my 2nd Choice.

This weeks **Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction** has been insane, like, what the heck?

I feel like summer is gonna have a lot of surprise hits and hidden gems, unlike spring which had a lot of smaller and bigger disappointments for me, and if it weren’t for the hidden gems i’d be left unsatisfied. Anyways, here’s some anime with a first ep that i liked, sorted by mals popularity:

**Oshi no ko** – a really strong return, visually

**Roshidere** – wait, they can have panty shots? I want to hear more of Sumire’s russian

**Gimai Seikatsu** – somber vibes throughout the episode made it feel a bit surreal, love it

**Giji Harem** – a romcom with Hayamin and Nobuhiko as leads and it actually looks good and is very charming

**Nier part 2** – I wasn’t keen on watching it, but seeing 2b once made me change my mind

**Shoushimin series** – i love mystery, and i already like this mystery series

**Elusive Samurai** – it has to be repeated that it has a movie level production. It’s the first ep, i have nothing much to add

**Dungeon people** – It’s by OLM so it looks good, has a *cool* girl MC, and it’s more dungeon for the dungeon exploration genre fans!

**Monogatari series** – Shaft is back at the wheel, and the episode was everything you could have hoped for.

    19. Man, I really need to binge the entirety of MT Season 2. Season 1 was great! Hope the animation and OST kept up.

    20. Lost_Still_4222 on

A lot of great shows ended, I feel this is gonna be a boring summer session

    21. YellowStarfruit6 on

I love MT and Demon Slayer both, but man I really wanted Demon Slayer to win this one

    22. That banner of **Spice and Wolf**’s Holo is so good! Not going to lie, the Wise Wolf’s pretend act worked on me too. I’m apparently just as simple of a “male” like any other. It’s a shame that S&W’s karma keeps falling however.

Good to see that our gremlin Saki from **Senpai is an Otokonoko** managed to slip into the Top 15. After all the review-bombing on other sites, I wasn’t sure how well the show would perform on this subreddit.

The performance of **Pseudo Harem** surprised me on the other hand. I didn’t expect it to do this well!

    23. SPOTTEDTIGRESS_44 on

Can’t believe that Yatagarasu dosen’t make it here, considering the quality of some of these shows
