Coming 2025, animation produciton is Bug Films. Crunchyroll announced for streaming.

      Plot:

      > A beautifully-illustrated story about a girl who longs for magic in her life and learns that, on the inside, she already is what she wishes she could be. Reminiscent of Studio Ghibli, this lushly drawn story was voted one of the Top 10 manga of the year in 2018 by the Japanese manga industry. In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: she wants to be a witch. But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with a gift for magic. Resigned to her un-magical life, Coco is about to give up on her dream to become a witch … until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious, traveling magician. After secretly seeing Qifrey perform magic in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everybody “knows” might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it may seem …

    2. IT LOOKS SO GOOD! I’m just praying it’s not plagued by production problems the way Zom100 was

    3. BUG FILMS does not inspire confidence after the trainwreck of Zom 100 but i really like the artstyle here

BUG FILMS bringing that fire again! But I’m praying production doesn’t go the way like Zom 100 did.

I know this trailer is pre animated and it’s not definitively what the final product will end up being once it comes next year but im still hopeful for BUG FILMS that they won’t fuck this up like Zom 100’s production. Other than that is im excited for this adaptation.

Also the soundtrack will be done by ELDEN RING composer Yukia Kitamura lets goo!

    6. Hopefully that soundtrack is reflective of that OST, cause that was really nice. I haven’t read the manga yet though I know about all the praise this one gets. Trailer looks gorgeous(though yeah if it’s the Zom studio hopefully things don’t go to hell), hopefully the industry can continue to improve the quality of Western Medieval fantasy, cause we have been getting some actual hits of late.

    7. Oh my god its so beautiful. I still need to catch up on the manga, havent gotten to the latest chapters yet, but im glad they managed to translate the beautiful artwork of it in to the animated medium.

    8. I was concerned that they wouldn’t be able to pull off an anime adaptation for this series but it seems like I was wrong

This trailer is pre-animated btw. Kazuki Kawagoe (Zom100 Director) was in charge of creating his PV. Don’t expect the actual anime to have this footage, though it most likely gonna look very similar to this.

      Director: Ayumu Watanabe

       Character Design: Kairi Unabara

       Music: Yuta Kitamura (Elden Ring)

       Studio: Bugfilms

    11. I’ve been following the manga for Witch Hat Atelier for a few years now, and it is one of my favorite ongoing series. The animation makes everything feel so lively, and the soundtrack accompanying the trailer sounds fantastic.

I also can’t wait to see the influx of Qifrey fanart. I love him so much <3

    12. I’m hearing the studio has a mixed (or just negative after how their last show was botched) reputation, but praise for the director. With how this looks, I definitely believe the peaks can match the original, leaving me to wonder how consistent that quality will be 🤔

It actually looks good, I’m crying.

I hope Magus of the Library gets adapted too with this level of care.

For me Dungeon Meshi, Witch Hat Atelier, and Magus of the Library are literally goated fantasy manga.

I know everyone is going doomer mode over Bug Films, but director Ayumu Watanabe is phenomenal, and if there were ever a name I felt I could trust to make a great work and not suffer crazy production issues, it would be him. Don’t lose hope, this ship has a top tier captain.

    15. oh wow they got Yuka Kitamura!! I knew she left FromSoft to do freelance composing but wasn’t expecting her to be cooking this! !!

I don’t care if it’s preanimated my favorite manga getting good animation in its trailer is just what I needed rn to lighten up myself.

    17. The manga is easily one of my favorite works of art in general, to be honest

It’s heartfelt and bold and unabashedly magical in every chapter, and the art is unbelievable

This looks really really promising, too

We’re gonna witness one of the best fantasy anime of modern era, I trust Ayumu Watanabe to give this adaptation the best treatment possible.

Everyone is shitting on BUG FILMS for their production issues but isn’t delaying episodes rather than forcing employees to crunch what we want? In a perfect world every anime would be finished before it airs but we know that’s not the case.

    20. This has the trappings of becoming the next Frieren if done well. I hope the studio gives it its deserved time and effort for such an amazing story.

      OMG I’M IN LOVE

I’ve only read volume one (it’s the only one I have lol) but this is absolutely meeting the expectations I had after reading it. The animation with Qifrey grabbing Coco and flying looked beautiful and it looks like they got the style down pretty decently

Didn’t realize this was BUGFILMS at first though. Quick Zom 100 ptsd aside, I know from that they can do work so I’ll have faith
