    1. Damn you’re fast.

I guess they need to take a break to cook more, though I’m surprised they didn’t do it when Wano was ending. It would be a more suitable breakpoint.

EDIT: Looks like they’re replacing it with a remastered version of the Fishman Island arc? Think DBZ Kai – same animations, but with Wano-like effects, occasional new cuts, and better audio. New openings and endings too.

EDIT2: Also they’re making a One Piece Base app set for 2025. Includes motion comics, manga chapters, and a feature to take your picture and make it One Piece-style on a Wanted poster

EDIT3: And they’re also discussing the live action version, repeating the Mr. 0 and Ms. All Sunday casting reveals. And teasing Chopper again. Now they’re discussing the anime’s 25th anniversary

Wow, I was expecting some sort of new project, but a hiatus was really unexpected. It’s good though, it’s better they take time off rather than overwork themselves.

Good decision imo. Let the manga advance more.

One can wish the pacing will be better afterwards.

And for people who haven’t started the anime yet, now is as good a time as ever.

    4. Honestly this is the best thing that could have happened for the anime. Means less bad pacing and better animation more often.

They’re releasing an edited version of Fishman Island arc during the time. They said they’ve compressed the episodes from 58 to 21 or something. They’ve changed some of the effects and lighting and such as well as made new previews at the end of the episodes. From what I saw, I really liked it. I hope Dressrosa gets a similar treatment.

    6. I think Oda really wants the last arc to be top quality, so it makes sense they take a brake to make sure it gets perfect quality…

      Let’s hope I’m righ.

    7. Yo thats insane news, i’ve been watching this weekly since impel down arc…feels weird with no sunday one piece.

    8. Thank God, I’d rather have that than keep skipping… Like 10-15 minutes from each episode.

    9. Wow, sundays are gonna feel weird for a while now, I’m guessing the anime is getting too close to current chapters now?

I hope this means we are finally, completely done with long-running anime adaptations for forever.

Everything (basically) is seasonal now, I hope it stays that way.

And with even One Piece becoming more “seasonal”, this old model really has done everything it needed to. It made anime famous in the West, now let’s let anime be good!

Pretty great news and I don’t even watch One Piece a lot (but I read the manga)

    11. Good decision, but it’s definitely a shocking one. I don’t think anyone could have predicted One Piece going on an half a year hiatus. They should go all the way and make One Piece seasonal.

    12. This is a good thing, and should have happened sooner – like the end of Wano. The series needs to create some distance from the manga, especially as they already missed the perfect opportunity for a filler arc. The amount of recap episodes and the crawling pace of episodes has become a real problem.

Honestly, thank god. To me, the pacing is so horrible the anime is completely unwatchable. I can’t bring myself to watch more than just the clips of the cool animation. Like they could unironically have 5x as much content per episode and it still wouldn’t be too fast lol.

The biggest problem is that the manga releases roughly 3 chapters per month, while the anime has roughly 4 episodes per month, while also refusing to make pure filler episodes/arcs. So any resemblence of decent pacing would make them catch up instantly. Hopefully they use this oppertunity to make the pacing better when it does come back, then go on hiatus again (just make it seasonal lol).

Fishman island such a weird choice. I get the pacing sucked but they could’ve done like marineford or dressrosa. 6 months won’t stop the anime from catching the manga, unless they plan on doing this once ina while instead of filler arcs

Also what was the manga news?
