    1. Its good to see you again Misao, i missed how funny this Girl is

      The direction improved a lot

    2. I feel bad for Megumi being left alone in Tokyo. I mean, I know somebody has to watch the dojo, but still…though she’s not totally alone because none other than AOSHI is there, searching for Kenshin.

Obviously seeing Aoshi is traumatizing for Megumi, but she still won’t rat out her beloved Ken-san! Even if that means Aoshi killing her! Though I didn’t expect Saito to show up and catch Aoshi up to the plot. It saved Megumi’s life, even if it’s only because Aoshi is willing to wait for Kenshin to come back because he’s the only one that can kill him.

Aoshi is a dangerous and principled swordsman, anyone would want them on their side be it Saito or Shishio. Though having four false monks desecrating the Oniwaban grave and talking @#$% to Aoshi’s face is a bad way to make a first impression…even if it’s the perfect opportunity for showing off Aoshi’s new dual kodachi style that utterly eviscerates them.

I get why Aoshi doesn’t want anything to do with Shishio, but can he truly ignore the change in Japan that might occur in Kyoto? Especially knowing his history?

The man himself, Shishio Makoto! He seems to have good taste in swordsman as much as he does lady friends considering the beauty cozying up to him…but seems like he’s planning to encounter Kenshin next.

It’s a long road from Tokyo and Kyoto and Kenshin doesn’t have the time or the convenience of using an inn…even when cute inn girls make it very appealing and Kenshin’s rejections just make him come off like a broke bum. It doesn’t pay to be a good guy.

Well, at least Kenshin is self-aware that the old gang is probably royally ticked off at him, even if he probably isn’t expecting they’re already following him.

Oh no! A young, defenseless, woman being accosted by bandits! Only it turns out said woman is Misao, a feisty, sassy, and cute female bandit who can take out four men all on her own and rob them in the process! Kenshin may not think committing crimes on criminals is okay, but Misao sure makes it look fun!

Kenshin could be her next victim, but she doesn’t stand a chance against him and he really has nothing of value, even if she’s desperate for money. Though Kenshin CAN return stolen money and prevent her from stealing even more while he’s there. And let her and the other bandits take a bit of a dip in the river before they think of committing another crime.

So Misao is off to Kyoto as well! She just left because she was searching for the precious family that took her in! That’s rather sweet. Minus the fact that said family is actually the Oniwaban and she’s been searching for people who are all dead save for Aoshi. And Kenshin is the only one that knows.

    3. Daishomaru here, couldn’t really think of a writeup today so I’m gonna leave you guys with some historical/cultural notes:

One of the bandits is wearing the Latter Hojo Clan emblem (“The triforce emblem”), which is historically accurate as the Hojo clan used to rule in that particular area. There were two Hojo Clans that were unrelated by blood but they ruled the same area and had the same emblem, so people called them the Latter Hojo to seperate the two clans. It’s a nice touch because some ex-samurai decided to resort to banditry and one of the recurring themes of Rurouni Kenshin is of course, how Japanese people who were samurai and ninja had a hard time adapting to the times.

The route Kenshin is taking is the same route that the present Shinkansen uses from Tokyo to Kyoto. Odawara, as said, was a rest town. They still exist, but are less visited nowadays by many people, even by local Japanese travellers due to the two train revolutions that happened in the Meiji and Showa Eras, where the introduction of trains massively affected the visitation of these towns. However, they are a popular spot amongst the historical gourmet lovers who like to go look for obscure places in Japanese cuisine culture.

I can’t even imagine the [terror Megumi felt after meeting Aoshi again.](https://i.imgur.com/MipIRAW.jpeg) Thank goodness [Hajime arrived on time.](https://i.imgur.com/KIIsHyA.png) I love that he’s pointing Aoshi towards Kyoto. He’s really hoping that maybe Aoshi could end up helping them against Shishio.

[These four idiot monks really thought they could take on Aoshi.](https://i.imgur.com/pUAoLyj.jpeg) They haven’t even realized that Shishio is just using them [as sacrificial pawns to test Aoshi.](https://i.imgur.com/AKQQ39z.jpeg) Considering his goons just defiled the Oniwabara graves, joining Shishio will be far down Aoshi’s list right now.

[She’s finally here!](https://i.imgur.com/tbnskF8.jpeg) My baby girl Misao makes her big debut [by robbing a bunch of thieves](https://i.imgur.com/6SWzNCQ.jpeg) who just stole some money earlier. I love how [even Kenshin is surprised](https://i.imgur.com/JVrBsZq.jpeg) considering he was expecting a damsel in distress. xD

I love how Kenshin tries to convince Misao [that his Sakabatou is worthless](https://i.imgur.com/TpfJq7i.jpeg) to a blacksmith but [Misao is still willing to sell it just for a little bit of case.](https://i.imgur.com/C7uE28j.jpeg) xD

[Welp, this is awkward.](https://i.imgur.com/CaXzRac.jpeg) I mean the ED last week already spoiled it but we now know that Misao is actually the only other living member of the Oniwaban Group besides Aoshi. Kenshin has two choices here. Either he tells her the truth or lets her learn it later. Either way, it’s not gonna end well. >_<

    5. Saito clearly a protector of ladies. And those guys sure made a mistake at them graves. None of those “monks” will be missed. Nice at least those scumbags have some standards. Finally get to see Shishio too. Whooo, getting to see Misao. She a cutie. Dayum Kenshin, people might wanna use that bridge, you know.

    6. I love the way all the previous villians and side characters are being incorporated into this new arc. The way it’s being handled is pretty smooth and I’m looking forwards to seeing everyone in Kyoto

This Reiwa version of Misao is cute, but will need time to get used to her new VA.

I’ve been really enjoying this season so far. S1 had an extremely slow start so maybe it just took time for me to get into it, but now I’m pretty excited for each episode. We’ve got established major threats like Aoshi coming back too so it’s always interesting how he’d interact with the big bad Shishio.

I like Misao well enough too and I did not expect her to be affiliated with the Onibawan group.

Kinda lol at Kenshin being so nice that he goes out of his way to return the stolen money, and even give Misao his own money. But then he’s totally fine with major property damage to public infrastructure which probably costs more to repair than what Misao stole. Not to mention the time and inconvenience for people who use that bridge.
