    1. I really cant get enough of this opening, i have Heard 10 times everyday since last week

Again a good episode, i am really liking The direction That is being given to Dandadan. Soundtrack, Visuals, etc is perfect.

    2. The black and white style for the Spirit realm is a nice way to save budget because these fight scenes are fire!! It also makes their personal color pop out when they use the spirit abilities~

And here I thought the random black and white background in episode 1 was just a temporary stylistic choice to make the explosion pop off, guess that explains why nobody else made a fuss with the exploding UFO.

Time for that weekly dosis of:

      >DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN.

      >DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN.

      >DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN.

      >DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN.

Also, I love how the opening makes reference to the Showa Ultraman series with those frames, not to mention the boys hitting the Carlton XD

That final shot of Turbo Granny taking over our boi with her mouth all open and body turned was creepy as hell.

The red lighting was a fantastic idea by the director too.

I would love to know what actually would happen if you take her up on the offer of “gobblin that weenie”

    5. Turns out what those kids saw in Flatwoods in 1952 wasn’t a barn owl but a kaiju-sized sumo wrestler. Can’t blame them for being terrified tbh.

If willingly letting himself get half-cursed gave Ken all that rizz, imagine what fully giving in to Turbo Granny will do for him

      Debut of the Goat Granny.
Another ultra amazing episode. It’s really getting top tier treatment as it should!

On a side note, the opening is insane. I’ve heard it hundreds of times and it never gets old.

    7. Okarun really changed his hairstyle so many times in this episode like he is some GTA character lmao! Turbo Granny really give him max aura in exchange with his family jewels though. His transformation and powers looks awesome and Momo tanking the damage while keeping control with okarun’s cursed with her powers aswell truly the best duo.

But man when that monster came, it turned black and white it looks like im reading the manga again, but they made it more better. Science SARU really a goated studio.

    8. I love how this fight is in black and white, Dandadan is clearly the best Black and White anime airing this season

    9. God, that brief moment of silence after the alien’s punch then the sudden cut to them running and screaming like idiots was pure gold lmao. Scooby-Doo and Shaggy would be proud

    10. ObvsThrowaway5120 on

Bro really farted in Ayase’s face haha. Him and Ayase have a pretty hilarious dynamic developing and good teamwork. I’m glad they’ve become friends. They’re like magnets for monsters and all sorts of things that go bump in the night.

Sumo alien was tough, but they managed to kick its ass. Hopefully Ayase’s grandma can come and deal with horny ass granny ghost before she goes berserk…

    11. I actually didn’t realize this episode was so inspired by JoJo. Or Momo is a fan of JoJo as well.

    12. Damn… the animation and camera work is just sooo awesome in this episode!

That twist when Okarun’s Grandma transformation is just a depressed man who is just awkward after all is just funny. Usually when someone transforms, one becomes badass, but this time hes just badass but also depressed HAHAHA

    13. ModieOfTheEast on

Everyone is so horny in this show. Ghosts and aliens obviously, but Ayase got her powers awakened when she got horny as well and Okarun is just depressed in his new form because he lost his banana. Not that I don’t get him, but still.

    14. KumaKumaGambler on

Ayase is the type of (girl)friend who will fight and tease you because she cares about you!

Despite having gained new powers / curse, I like how Ayase and Okarun are not overpowered yet. They have to learn to control their powers / curse in order to defeat opponents.

      Lastly, in anime, manga and games, removing talismans from anywhere is definitely a sure sign of troubles to come. ^_^;;

    15. AmethystItalian on

The Science Saru effect is still a lot for me to get passed but I’m glad the leads both seem to bring infectious energy to the show, hoping Ken can gain more confidence as when he’s not down on himself he can bounce off her pretty well. Even their teamwork was fun to watch, though dang both can take a big beating!

I’m a bit sad the grandma wasn’t there, was hoping she’d provide more insight, hope we do get to meet her eventually.

    16. insidiouskiller on

It’s interesting how both aliens and ghosts seem to be effected by wards designed for ghosts, as Okarun noted. Interesting how there’s point(s?) of commonality between aliens and ghosts.

    17. Interesting, so that’s how they plan to cut some costs on this animation.

The zooming in and out, Small animations merged with black screens, Single frames used for impact. They are trying to cut animation costs without compromising the style.

I’m sure most folks will notice it. But honestly It still looks pretty good. Also an interesting choice is that the Ghost scenes always seem to be hand animated, and the Aliens have thus far been CGI.. I wonder if that’s intentional? If it is that’s funny as hell.

    18. i fucking love momo ayase so much – shes not a love interest, or a heroine, or female lead etc etc – she is just as important as the male MC, and just as useful in battle

    19. Damn, Ayase is strong, she tanked those punches like nothing. Even if in the end she fainted.

    20. Ah yes, I remember learning all those details about the Flatwoods Monster. Eyewitness reports did mention something about it vaguely making the same motions as that of a sumo wrestler.

But wow, I didn’t even think about this fight being in black and white, but it works quite well.

And here we are, the debut of Okarun’s drip + depression mode, as well as a better hairdo. Though obviously a power up, I liked that it didn’t become the instant solution to their issue and they still had to use the talisman.

Which also just so happened to let Momo take the spotlight, by being able to pull off such a 1000000+ IQ start even after the Flatwoods Monster gave her infinite concussions on top of protecting her boi. She truly is just ***HER***.

    21. use of sfx is great; blinking, random vine boom, camera snapshot noises; it all fits so seamlessly

dandadan really succeeds in characterization. okarun and ayase on their own, are freaking hilarious. practically every scene killed me. not to mention the intimate scenes and their lack of cheapness. they’re full of depth, with us genuinely feeling for okarun when he displays vulnerability. these scenes are quickly interrupted by funny moments but that doesn’t ruin it, it only serves to enhance.

they’re so full of personality, i genuinely wish i was both of them combined. just brimming with character

this show is freaking amazing and id kill for 24 episodes

    22. This is peak, yo.

But why do I feel depressed, yo?

Probably because I have to wait another week, yo.

    23. ###Stitches!

      * [Okarun & Momo](https://i.imgur.com/NQzrp9V.jpeg)

      * [Turbo Okarun](https://i.imgur.com/63TRbIJ.jpeg)

God, I just [love the chemistry between these two so much.](https://i.imgur.com/63TRbIJ.jpeg) Even when they’re arguing, [you can tell they somehow still get along.](https://i.imgur.com/TLpRHeM.jpeg) xD

[Poor Okarun!](https://i.imgur.com/r2tM4ub.jpeg) It looks like Turbo Granny did manage to get his weenie! And this isn’t even the most insane thing about this show.

[We finally get to see Okarun’s first transformation](https://i.imgur.com/sj6v1eP.jpeg) and it’s so fucking cool! [I love how he completely changes his personality](https://i.imgur.com/7lOomdN.jpeg) when transformed.

[Momo coming up with the conclusion that sumo wrestling the sumo alien](https://i.imgur.com/cowel1E.jpeg) is a genius move. I love that [even Okarun thinks so too!](https://i.imgur.com/bmRKsxC.jpeg)

Okarun isn’t the only one who gets a badass scene. It’s so awesome [that Momo was the one who ends up saving the day](https://i.imgur.com/1moGW7k.jpeg).

    24. Bruh I love this..the characters are really doing it for me..animation too. Ayase is just so cool and kind at the same time. She doesnt have to do even half the things he does. Okarun is okay too. But Ayase steals it for me.

I’m guessing her spiritual power is how she can take those hits .my girl should be dead lol.

    25. I’m so glad this is getting the attention it deserves. Watched the first 3 episodes in theaters so now I have to do the long wait until episode 4, but finally seeing everyone’s reaction is worth the wait. It also holds up to the manga so far and I completely believe Science Saru will see it through until at least the end of this first season.

    26. Everyone‘s talking about the sick animation and banger OST, and sure those aspects are phenomenal, but can we please talk about that amazing cinematography in the pre-op segment with the multiple squares showing different angles of the characters and environment? Fucking awesome stuff.
