      …..no words

The pacing was horrendous and the massive step backwards in animation is so jarring.

    2. Studio ~~Akatsuki~~ Fugaku are you okay

There was a lot of goofs in this episode that shouldn’t be there, like people having nothing inside of their mouths (and that slow punch).

Anyway; [here is a, totally unrelated to this episode, picture of Bobobo](https://i.imgur.com/4QQZM24.png).

    3. Unfortunately, that was hot ass. Doesn’t measure up to the first episode, and especially not the manga.

    4. Goofiest thing I’ve seen in a minute.

This makes Ex-arm look like a revolutionary avant-garde project, this makes Ufotable’s Gyo look like the best piece of animation in history.

    5. The hair fight felt really silly. Thankfully someone was able to touch up Kirie’s hair afterwards.

I really hope this episode quality was not a sign of things to come for every other episode. 😐

    7. Guess I was right being cautiously optimistic because on some scenes in the trailer looks…not good

Hope this is just ep2 but I’m not optimistic anymore lol.

This ep is just hilarious. The goofy scenes made it just more goofier because of the jarring animations.

    8. I definitely noticed the unfortunate animation quality dip at times but not to an extreme point so as to say it looks horrible. In my opinion, worse than that was the pacing – it’s all over the place. There were a lot of things missing, dialogue, build up, even scenes on par with these other victims…

So many years for just four episodes and they can’t even keep the same director and studio consistent? I am still invested and want to see it through to the end but Ep. 2 really was the make or break point for me in terms of defining how the adaptation was going to be (due to the nature of what it had to adapt). It will never come close to replicating this original manga story.

Rooting for episodes 3 and 4 to stick the landing at least…

    9. I’ve never read the manga, but I feel like I’m doing a disservice to it by watching this horrible adaptation. The first episode still was paced too fast but it was great and gave eerie vibes and the art was detailed. This was such a huge drop in animation quality and I was just waiting for the episode to end the whole time.

    10. I don’t understand how this even happened. The anime was delayed three times, with it in total taking over 5 years from its announcement. Just to produce 4 episodes in black and white. Only for the animation to fall apart on the 2nd episode.

    11. While I didn’t think the episode was horrible or anything, the animation was a step down and pacing is a bit jarring.

There’s only 4 episodes, so hopefully the next two are on par with the first.

I don’t get it. Why blow up all your budget and resources on the first ep if you knew that this was gonna happen? Why not just tone down the first ep a bit and send some of that budget and and resources to this and other eps to make it more consistent?

I would much rather all episodes be at 7/10 quality then first ep be a 10/10 and rest of them being 4/10.

    13. Uhmm… That was something… I mean there were still some creepy moments like [that guy turning into a snail](https://i.imgur.com/DDFmp67.jpeg) and [Kirie finding those charred bodies](https://i.imgur.com/MzsgURX.jpeg) inside the lighthouse but I feel like the pacing on this episode isn’t as good as the first one.

[Like why was that girl suddenly trying to start a fight with Kirie?](https://i.imgur.com/vctHUHu.jpeg) Also, why did Kirie and Shuuichi [decide to follow the snails](https://i.imgur.com/HyQyGhd.jpeg) after that hair fight? Scenes are just happening one after another without giving it time to breath. I’m hoping Episode 3 will be better but it really looks like Junji Ito is cursed to get bad anime adaptations of his works.

    14. This episode’s animation wasn’t the worst thing I’ve seen, but I’d say its mid at best, the eerieness of the series is still there though. Hopefully it was just this episode, I’m going to watch it to the end since it is only four episodes long, but man I’m no longer expecting this to be a 10/10 unless they stick the landing, The pacing felt better though this time at least.
