    1. The “ichi” in Keiichi means “one”, and the “ji” in Keiji means “two”. So these names can be read as “K1” and “K2″(since “kei” sounds like just how the letter “k” is sounded). Presumably, this alludes to K9, well, if there were seven more of them.

    2. i liked mayu’s expression when she was showing satoru the notebook she went back for at the beginning, so many good expressions in this episode in general

tire komugi makes a return this episode, thank you toei

      komugi’s byebye/wanwan was cute

i liked the framing with satoru in front of all that red

the bish satoru and meymey talking on the phone in meymey’s imagination was too funny

a time when satoru didn’t know everything about animals, cursed. meymey was passed out in a puddle of tears the entire flashback 👍

i guess komugi can count to 4 now. in the context of their transformations, she knew how to count backwards from 3 to wan this whole time so i guess this is (slow) progress

is it just me or are there scanlines on the trees/background during the fight

of course they had to cliffhanger the end smh

really fun episode, prob one of my favs of this precure installment so far.

    3. mysterybiscuitsoyeah on

the ramp up to the mid season climax! The animations be lookin’ good today (and seemingly for next week too)

good ep overall, they are not bsing through this romantic subplot and actual progress is being made! Mei Mei MVP for ~~making things worse~~ helping us get said progress. really looking forward to next week to see how iroha processes and reacts to all this. and seemingly will have a badass moment of her own?

neat concept to fight the kangaroo, making full use of its animaly limitations. [and this is so cute and cool haha.](https://imgur.com/a/GsqWvW5)

and no wonder daifuku is a big satoru x iroha shipper. he/she knows it all!

    4. It feels like this is a pretty big moment in Precure.

Precure’s had some romance subplots in the past. Love interests have existed going back to the first installment, but Precure’s never really been all that interested in them so nothing ever really comes from it.

I’ve stated that it’s something that I think sets Precure apart from it’s contemporaries in the past. What makes Precure different from CardCaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon and Shugo Chara? I’d say a big part is the fact that those series are inherently Shoujo at their core. Romance is fundamental part of their DNA. For many of them, the magic, the monsters, the conflict and drama is all dressed around the core of romance and love triangles.

Precure hasn’t traditionally done that. Recent years have had Precure dip it’s toes into romance but even the most romance focused series have been pretty light and noncommittal.

A real full confession in a season is a pretty big deal and I’m excited to see how the franchise handles this. To be honest I have no clue what happens.

it’s always exciting when a 20+ year old franchise can find ways to surprise audiences

    5. Alright, the moment of truth for Satoru. Assuming they don’t hold off a conclusion until next week.

Interesting to have the episode start by Satoru rejecting someone else’s confession, and not for the first time either. Hopefully that isn’t karmic foreshadowing.

This Keiji better watch himself or he may get dropped in the ocean by Mayu and Yuki.

Oh, Keiji is a dog isn’t he. Or at least some sort of pet their family deals with on a professional basis, I bet.

Oh no, it’s Keiji’s owner that might be the threat. Though in truth I bet it’s much ado about nothing and this dude doesn’t have any intentions, there’s no reason to believe either Mayu or Yuki have good instincts on the subject.

I love how Mayu’s using her Cure mottos in this, but it still doesn’t give me much confidence. Though I do particularly love her mottos, it always makes her henshins kind of special.

That said, the part about her wanting to tie Iroha and Satoru together is a little bit concerning.

Neat combination of Daifuku and Satoru/Iroha backstory all at once. And backstory for why Satoru is always so full of animal facts, too. I love how Mey Mey is just over there in the background in a puddle of his own tears.

A Gaogaon kangaroo? Someone is definitely getting punched.

This would be a bad time for Satoru to let his feeling get the better of him and throw himself in front of Friendy. On the other hand it was the perfect time for some Kangaroo Facts™.

That dramatic moment of Satoru running through the forest towards Friendy while she was leading the Gaogaon to the bridge, I was half convinced we were about to get his Cure transformation at last. Instead they did a very odd thing with Lillian’s net.

The fakeout on the confession, amazing. Thank you for everything, Mey Mey.

Oh my god, they cliffhangered it. Man, an entire week waiting to find out if Satoru gets rejected or not and how that effects the team.

    6. I expected it to end at the Mey Mey gag because of course it would but nah he actually said it and the cliffhanger man.
