This series has been the most fun I’ve had while watching an anime since Yuru Camp. Praying we get the announcement for season 2 soon.
Bro the author 100% just made Karen and Sousuke eat their ice cream that way just to make Yanami suffer as usual. Also of fucking course the nurse was watching that.
A fun little episode to wrap up the season, with a bit of all the heroines.
For me, the highlight today was the voice acting. Yanami definitely wouldn’t be who she is without the sometimes annoying, sometimes heartfelt acting from Hikaru Toono. And the “shine”s from Komari are always welcome.
It doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting S2 anytime soon, but I look forward to seeing more antics and drama in a few years!
I will miss these four goobers, Hoping for a 2nd season someday!

Alas, no news of a second season here either. At least Frieren finally got its announced.
As I have thought, this original episode is pretty much the draft of how the LN will end.
Nukumizu throughout the entire episode feels “unromantic” or “uninterested” in Yanami, despite the whole Yanami centric episode. Even Komari and Lemon didn’t take much interest in him, while Yanami did.
So it’s obvious that Yanami will win it all in the end and changes Nukumizu’s feeling towards her.
Strongest chopsticks in history.

This show just won’t let up on the poor hungry girl.

Probably going to start reading volume 4 today, even though I easily expect this to get an S2 with the insane amount of reprints the LN has been getting thanks to this. It’s not going to be any less fun knowing what happens when the adaptation is *this* good.
This anime was amazing from start to finish, ever since the scene from episode 1 I labeled this as AotS and I’m happy to say that it continued to deliver.
Well-written and lovable characters, a beautiful soundtrack, gorgeous visuals with sceneries taken from real life locations, voice actors that nailed their roles in every scene whether it was comedic or bittersweet, stellar animation that never dipped in quality throughout the entire runtime.
I feel like I could go on and on about everything I loved about this anime and the experience was only made better knowing that it got the time and care needed to be as impressive as it is on every metric, avoiding being rushed out evident by the fact it avoided having a single delay compared to many anime this season.
10/10 and an AotY contender.

Been a pleasure with you all to watch it and read the comments weekly – top tier show with amazing characters, carefully handled romance arcs, and humour executed so well – deserves a season 2 immediately.

Yanami has got some yabai dating ideas. Nukkun, maybe stay away from this one and go form a nukular family with someone else.
This episode must have been written quite a while ago if it’s describing Americans as expert marksmen… let’s leave it at that.
I wasn’t as big on this one as the rest of /r/anime but it was still definitely a surprise on what it ended up being.

As a romance fan this felt more like an anti-romance anime so was always going to be a struggle for me to get behind.
Still not sure what endgame for this series would be…don’t see it ending well with its current format though.
Nukumizu’s fate was sealed once Yanami’s chopsticks got a hold of him. She is going to devour him.
Maintaining the Yanami Anna agenda… is our top priority.

This was a fantastic series. The characters were great, the humor was really good, and the romantic drama was handled incredibly well. I want a second season of this so badly.
Oh, look at that. The anime didn’t end with an original ending! I am extremely shocked, flabbergasted, and even bamboozled!
Loved this series. The music, the story, the characters and the animation were all excellent.
I’m now fully behind Nuku and Yanami getting together.

Pretty chill finale, with Nukumizu getting the harem MC experience group date with the girls. Yanami’s fake boyfriend’s backstory getting more ridiculous as the date progressed made me lol. And sheesh, wtf are Karen and Sousuke doing in public. Also, Nukumizu and gang getting stalked by Kaju and Konuki-sensei, but it seems like Chihaya is the ultimate stalker for dodging Konuki, she probably has a GPS on her or something. This episode was also pushing Nukumizu x Yanami so hard, I’d be surprised if any other girl won.
Easily Anime of the Season for me, will miss these Literature Club dorks. The novels are apparently selling well so hopefully we’ll get a Season 2 eventually.
What are people’s thoughts on whether they actually kissed? Their reactions afterwards didn’t seem like they kissed, but they didn’t show what really happened :X If this was an “semi-ending in case the anime doesnt get a 2nd season” episode it would make sense for them to kiss but idk.

The way the girls bounced off Nukkun, and how each grew closer to him was enjoyable to see. How they’re friends, but also more than that, Hope we’ll get a second season sooner rather than later.

It looks like we’re ending this with Anna in debt again to Nukumizu. They’re probably just going to remain friends but all of those interactions Anna had with Nukumizu [especially in the final scene](https://i.imgur.com/Kvf8WC7.jpeg) just made me ship the two of them more.
I guess that’s it for Makeine! This has definitely been my favourite and only 10/10 show of the season and I really hope it doesn’t end here. It’s amazing how this show is basically an anti-romcom but it’s still making me root for Anna and Nukumizu because that’s just how good their chemistry is. Fingers crossed for another season and hopefully, there’s more material out there to adapt.
