    1. While the first half of the season was a little slog with all those meetings that didn’t contribute anything substantial to the overall plot, the second half of this 3rd season was so much fun!

Watching Rimuru and the others prepare for the Festival, the creation of Labyrinth, the Festival itself, and generally seeing everyone having a good time made me feel like I was watching the second season of Slime Diaries and I loved it!

Although I wouldn’t mind if we got an actual 2nd season of Slime Diaries focusing just on the Festival as it has so much more potential since pretty much everyone we know attended it. I can imagine many stories to tell about it.

I’m glad that we already got an announcement about the next season, so see you guys in 4th season.

Since I’m at work now, I’ll update this post later with my screenshot albums from the episode and some short thoughts on the finale itself.

    2. Even if S3 is so far my least fav of The 3 season, this festival arc was really good. I really love this characters and i cant wait for season 4 and The new movie!

    3. ObvsThrowaway5120 on

Always a good time see two faced scheming losers eat shit. Meuese shoulda known better than to try and fuck with Tempest. Rimuru’s building trains and nation building. He ain’t got time for no bullshit. All Rimuru had to do was a little “good cop bad cop” with Mjollmile and no more issues with those merchants.

Seems the gang’s preparing to face Yuki and his Eastern allies next. Looking forward to the next season or movie. This was pretty solid all in all. Took a bit to get started, but I enjoyed all the discussions and politicking.

    4. discuss-not-concuss on

Rimuru pulling an UNO reverse with them owing the favour instead is pretty cool

Eren and Ellie as an iyashikei combo is unbeatable with how soothing their voices are and their resonating “*neeee*”

looking forward to Maribel shenanigans once the Rozzos start making their moves

    5. I’ve speculated that the Rosso little girl was an isekai-ers before since she knew about wasabi. However, the term that she used was a bit ambiguous by saying nostalgia of the past and how she smelled/felt it. An actual isekai person (Hinata, Yuuki  Masayuki) would immediately recognise what Rimuru aims to do like the food name or the technology (train) rather than using cryptic terms like that.

I am interested to see them delving more into the Rosso family, however they hinted that the next arc would be against the west council rather than Eastern merchant so it might be a while before we know the truth?

Anyway, I enjoy the festival arc so much so hoping they’ll retain the pacing and quality for the announced 4 season! Looking forward for full adaptation in the future.

    6. Hinata at beginning of season: “I’ll take on Veldora.”

Hinata at end of season: “Hey [paladins], go fight Veldora in the dungeon.”

And that’s a wrap for the season! We started with meetings, had a few fights, met lots of people, and ended… with a meeting. Glad that Rimuru and all his allied nations/factions are on the same page (while privately, within Tempest, having their stance on Yuuki) and are ready to face the new threat from the East.

And at the rate of industrialization we’re going, this series is going to end with hyperloop and space travel.

See you all in season 4!

    7. Let’s go last episode !

Ok so that old guy Rozzo is behind this and it’s just as Elmesia speculated. They’re trying to make Rimuru owe them. But Rimuru are already on top of things

Lmao Diablo sure does enjoy people’s sufferings. That was such a satisfied smirk seeing Meuese plead like that.

Oooh seems they’ve progressed quite a bit with the train. Got a miniature one going.

Ok sorry but from getting slapped at the back of the head by Elmesia and getting bullied by her and his own daughter, I’m finding this Erald abuse pretty funny. Eren being girl buds with “Ellie” was pretty cute too

Wow, a joint research project between Tempest, Thalion and Dwargon. That’s a powerhouse alliance right there

Momiji is joining in on the political action too. Though it seems she’s just aiming for Benimaru lol. But if the tunnels do affect her village, I wonder how they’re gonna handle it. Also, what’s her village called again ? I’d love to be on top of all these names but there’s quite a lot

Seems King Youm and Queen Myuran have things under control. And I guess this is turning into a review and sharing session of Tempest and its allies. Everyone’s chipping in. Oh Blumund proposing to be the transport and goods hub would be a major deal for them. They’d basically be the beating heart of the land.

Hmm Yuuki’s getting in on this too. But is this part of Rimuru’s plan ? I think he might have already suspected Yuuki has something up his sleeve. Mjolmille said it’s to keep the adventurers close but could it also be to keep Yuuki close ?

“The aroma of a nostalgic culture from the past”. Yeah that further solidifies the speculation that Maribel is an Otherworlder.

Ohh Rimuru is on to Yuuki. I’m guessing he suspects he has ties with the Eastern Merchants ?

Oh ok he’s definitely on to him now lol

So we’ve strengthened bonds with other countries but are also about to face a big foe ahead. This cour has been a blast. I love the fights and the plots but all these city development, both internal and external is something I thoroughly enjoy. I really loved getting caught up and being updated on the different nations and how things are going there, though I wish I was a bit more on top on who’s who and their names. And also to see the fruits of that labour in the form of people and friends enjoying themselves.

But come on, why did they end it like that ? What letter ?? I’m already excited for a S4 and now they’re making the wait unbearable

Also, is there a non-spoilery map of this world around ? I love looking at fictional maps but always afraid it could spoil stuff for me. And having some supporting info on it will be a bonus

    8. Oh thank God, if Yuuki left scot free I was gonna be annoyed. Wonder who RImuru is going to inform.

Was confused at first why Mjollmir was panicking when he knows they have the money to pay them, looks like it was a plot to get the noble to out themselves infront of the media. Not as satisfying as Shion taking out groups, but that was still satisfying to watch.

Still wondering what Greed is planning to do, was really hoping she was also gonna find Tempest fun but guess not.

We never found out who the two people that Luminous and Rimuru were wary of.

Also, any time I hear “co-prosperity sphere” for some reason I think of Gundam. Anyone else?

    9. The cheerful backing track was a little odd when they were talking about the Eastern Merchants. Why did Raphael suggest the Yuuki situation is unlikely, when it is true?

    10. Finally time to take care of paying the merchants! We’ve got Duke Meuse coming in like he’s an effective and competent anime villain working for the Rozzo’s, but he’s got nothing against Tempests’ economic advantage thanks to their allies. Rimuru’s not about to be intimidated.

Rimuru playing hardball! These merchants caused such a fuss and disrespected his nation, he’s never going to do business with them again! And the press is there to report on the merchants’ failure AND Rimuru’s intention to build his own self-sufficient economy! Take that home with you, Meuse!

Did you really think we could end this season without a big meeting with everybody who had shown up this cour? At least they moved it to a gazebo with a model Magitrain set.

I love how Rimuru comes up with the most convenient things and never thinks about how they can be applied to anything outside entertainment or culture.

Look at Eren being gal pals with her Empress and both of them teaming-up to sass poor Erald.

Nothing says Kaede on the idea of construction on her Tengu mountain like having her intended husband visit from time to time.

Rimuru is about to build an industrial revolution big enough to truly create a world of prosperity between humans and monsters! That looks oddly like Victorian England! Truly the power of trains and its ability to build connections and faster supply lines!

Veldora doesn’t want to be stuck at floor 100 when he’s more than ready for challengers, but luckily they showed off the dungeon so well they’ll probably have numerous people trying to conquer the dungeon in the future! Especially with monsters drying up, adventurers will need the experience, and Hinata thinks it’ll be a good training field for her group as well!

“Nolstalgic sense of culture” – Wait, is Maribel talking about the Japanese culture?

Well, Rimuru and his people are planning to deal with the eastern merchants as best as they can, though Yuuki also kind of gives himself away…so Rimuru will have to watch out for him too.

With one final meeting over, the festival finished, all that’s left is partings, clean-up, and the promise of a new season (and movie) for Slime.

    11. what a good time to turn the tables on them and declare their own economic power house plans.

Do love the meeting of the leaders. Especially Rimuru not considering things like the war perspectives of the information bit. Eren and “El-chan” sure have a cute relationship. I see Rimuru has entered his “model train” era of his life. Good times. And Benimaru being coerced to get closer to his clearly first wife, har. Ya, that train will be crazy big for things too.

Now that meeting is over… MORE MEETINGS! Hehe. Quite a casual point about Yuuki though. Definitely is a “what’s his deal” thing. Whelp, good times.

    12. I thought the gold issue was taken care of behind the scenes after Rimuru exchanged his high-denomination coins with Elmesia and Gazel. [It looks like Rimuru still needs to take care of these jokers personally.](https://i.imgur.com/ecAbXHQ.jpeg) And I’m glad we got to see [Rimuru own that Duke](https://i.imgur.com/WiXq48H.jpeg) and deny trade with [those merchants who refuse to trust them](https://i.imgur.com/slwbKMW.jpeg) just because they’re a country of monsters.

Of course, this season can’t be over [without one final meeting scene.](https://i.imgur.com/BYux6da.jpeg) At least Rimuru changed it up this time and held the meeting outdoors instead of inside his boardroom. It looks like Rimuru’s Magitrain plan is all good to go with everyone agreeing to be a part of it [and Blumund serving as their central hub.](https://i.imgur.com/8glUrZT.jpeg) My favourite part of the meeting though [is the interactions between Eren and El-chan.](https://i.imgur.com/69PKsjb.jpeg)

[I’m so glad that Rimuru has finally sussed out Yuuki.](https://i.imgur.com/9i92JUf.jpeg) It looks like Yuuki’s answer about the eastern merchants is what finally convinced Rimuru but it sounds like he’s still a little conflicted. I do love Raphael tells Rimuru that there’s a low chance that he has made a mistake about this.

[That Rozzo girl seems to be the more immediate trouble though](https://i.imgur.com/jN7s9yi.jpeg) since she really wants to destroy Tempest. I’m so glad that Season 4 and a movie is already announced! I can’t fucking wait for the next big conflict of the series!

    13. I absolutely _love_ Diablo’s smug shit eating grin when Rimuru handed those merchants their collective asses. It lasted a second but it was a highlight for me. Can’t wait for next season!

    14. The Rozzos talk about destroying Tempest like it’s that easy. Aside from all the strong individuals in Tempest, there’s a primordial, a demon lord, and a dragon.

    15. Ha, those merchants got played hard, it’s like insisting on being paid in USD, and in turn being [locked out](https://imgur.com/Dr8LBIS) of the Eurozone [](#pointandlaugh)

Nice that we got two new [meetings](https://imgur.com/TF280vB) to end the season on

      * First introducing the finer works of their new economic block along with further Dungeon business
      * Second, finally adressing Yuuki

Also, those eastern Merchants seem to be build up as the next batch of Antagonists, Maribel is one creepy girl

Too add: While Mjolmille stressed how owning favors is better than intimidation, they ended up owning quite a few [favors](https://imgur.com/98oz19Y) to Elmesia

    16. So, overall this was a really boring season. I read the light novel up to that point and it felt way more exiting in there.

I feel like the show still got massive pacing issues. I am not sure why they kept showing evil evildoers talking about their evil plans nor do I understand why they kept showing boring meetings of slime and friends. I mean, they kept talking about what they plan and then … it just happens mostly of screen and they are immediately sitting in the next meeting. Ugh. Was it really that difficult to have two characters talk about how they decided to do this while actually SHOWING them how they do this?

Also, I am getting slowly really annoyed by how stupid the villains are. Like the guy in this episode, who the f*ck behaves like that if they want to get close to someone.

The actual festival was at least some fun, though. I wish we had gotten more of it.

    17. I’m so tired of watching meetings in this anime. There has to be a better way to tell the story than sitting in a conference room for 60% of the anime.

    18. I quite enjoyed this season, even though there were perhaps a few too many meeting/dialog heavy episodes, but they won’t detract from my overall opinion.

Id say i enjoyed the earlier a bit more with the “fight” between Hinata and Rimuru, but the festival arc was also good

Happy to see season 4 is already confirmed although i wasn’t too worried about that

    19. in the season 4, the meetings will be so big, so huge. they will be the most beautiful meetings!
