Manga have entire chapter dedicated for this, a lot of full page panel with super detailed and many more destruction scenes.
Anime meanwhile add some of it’s own original scene like those teacher and Makoto in train station.
I also like the color switch from beautiful green to red when first destruction of buildings displayed.
