Komari was great this week. Nice to see she made another friend to talk about BL stuff with haha. But seriously though, it might sound a bit silly but I’m kinda proud of Komari. She’s really grown with Nukumizu’s assistance. The club is definitely in good hands.
It’s so nice to see another healthy conclusion (as much as can be considered one) to an unrequited love, especially to someone as shy as Komari.
As people have said many times, her [VA](https://myanimelist.net/people/64337/Momoka_Terasawa) may be new but is absolutely smashing it and this ep was full of that goodness.

What a nice end to Komari’s arc. She is indeed successful in her send-off to her senpai. I like that they made her senpai’s response to the question on whether he would have liked her as ambiguous as possible by (i) not giving the exact scene and (ii) letting Komari be as vague as possible on his response.
It was a short arc but it’s only endeared me more to the little freak gremlin named Komari. She’s been rising the ranks to be one of my favorite characters. I like that this arc has been more about Komari’s maturity and growth than just her lingering romantic feelings. Her and Nukumizu have a fun dynamic too, it feels like she treats him like both a little brother and a big brother.
Where are we going from here though? I can’t imagine there’s more of the Komari arc, so is it going to be a final mini arc? Leftovers from the aftermath of the festival? Will our beloved sea otter ever find love?

I feel like they did a really good job showing off the festival feel in this one. Wouldn’t have minded to see a bit more of it all.
They’ve hinted at other romantic partners for a couple of the heroines, it’s a shame neither seem to be viable options. Would be nice to see them move on in that way instead probably all falling for Nukumizu down the road…
This episode used all the comedy bits they’ve established so far. There’s that BL bit at the beginning, forehead slander, someone getting mercilessly dumped, Kaju being a brocon, etc. If it had a tap water scene we would’ve scored a bingo.
And then by the end it’s the most bittersweet episode of the season so far. Komari just hits a depth of emotion that’s hard to see elsewhere
The episode was filled with lots of positivity, except for that Takahashi guy. I’m really happy for Komari.
It’s a small detail, but I really liked the atmosphere of the school festival in this episode.
And man, Komari is precious, that final scene with the ED was great… idk why Nukkumizu thinks Komari pushes him away when we have scenes like that.
Thank you Shikiya for making Tiara say meow at the end of her sentences.
Also Kaju sure has a good friend if she’s willing to help take pictures of Kaju’s brother in secret.
Still have no idea how anyone can look at Komari and not think she’s just the most adorable thing ever. I think the club president might have a few screws loose, or maybe he’s an M.
Felt so bad for the dude that destroyed by Lemon, he’s definitely going to be traumatized.
It’s not weird that as a 30+ guy the teachers make me feel some type of way right?
Another great episode, a few thoughts…
A1 is so good at finding really cool musical references and inserts for their shows. I am on season 3 of Kaguya Love is war and I just watched an episode where they referenced “Achilles Last Stand” by Led Zeppelin in the soundtrack like VERY blatantly, to the point of clear homage. While Nukumizu and Komari were eating ramen on the bench, you can hear Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” being played in the distance. There are personnel involved in their projects with absolutely exquisite musical taste.
Asagumo shining head as a recurring callback gag is always really funny.
Love the consistency of Anna having food on her face during her performance (we saw her eating when she took a shift at the lit club exhibit)
Nukumizu’s “Polite conversation greases the wheels of society” and offering a candy cigarette was so fucking smooth.
Strangely, there haven’t been too many moments in this season that made me misty eyed. There’s no shortage of heartbreak and emotions in the show, so I don’t mean that as insult. But, there has always been this lighthearted and playful undercurrent to everything. However, that last scene with Komari really got to me. They have established a tenderness with respect to her, and I feel like of all the characters – as the viewer I have tremendous empathy for her in comparison to the others. She just seems so much more vulnerable than the rest. Meanwhile, while Anna and Lemon are dealing with their things I never felt worried about them, they would probably end up okay either way. It feels like Komari really needs Nukumizu in a healthy way, and its heartwarming to see.
I liked the tour of the festival. Lemon rejecting that guy, wonder if she even understands he likes her.
* The Yanami Ghost acting part is funny (there’s still food on her cheeks), but I don’t really understand why her classmates in blue shirts are facing away from the actors.
* Komari is surprisingly mature for someone so introverted. It’s ironic how she reacted differently from Lemon in handling her emotions, given that Lemon is the extroverted one.
* I know people are arguing the lack of Nuku – Lemon in the anime adaptation, but after seeing how they handled her scenes in this episode, it’s clear that she wasn’t meant to stick with Nuku.
YURI IN MY MAKEINE EPISODE?? WE WON. Guess the girls got tired of losing and said fuck the guys 😂 Shikiya senpai is amazing I can’t wait till we get to her arc, season 2 I’m guessing which with the way this LN is selling the anime is going is an inevitability
The Tsuwabuki festival is officially underway and the school is buzzing. Loved seeing the cast all off doing their own things and having fun. The literature club’s exhibit was a massive success and it’s sweet how Nukumizu helped decorate and present Komari’s work. That had to mean a lot to her with all the weight she was carrying last episode.
“Try calling me onii-chan” hey I know some guys are into that but not at school Nukumizu! 😂 he and Komari damn near died eating that spicy udon because they got distracted from that.
Chihaya trying to recruit Komari as a Fujoshi was too funny as well… and lemon, girl what is that fit?? I know it’s a track event but the mask is so out of place lmao
As the episode wound to a closed we got on the heavier side emotionally. Would be great for everyone to stay together, but alas it is time to start moving on. The literature club went out with a bang, their exhibit was a big success and a perfect send off for the senpai. Nukumizu and Tsukinoki’s conversation was great and I appreciate Tsukinoki being honest about knowing how Komari felt. She’s human at the end of the day, and a teenage girl so can’t fault her for how she handled things. There’s always a winner and loser.
Komari’s sunset conversation with Nukumizu was my fave part of the episode though. The hardest part is letting go of a crush that’s kept you going for so long. Sometimes things just don’t go the way you want and it’s a part of life. Doesn’t mean you need to be bitter about it and I think she took all the right things from this experience. She’s grown as a person and I know she’ll find the right person some day ❤️
That makes 2 of the “winning heroines” feeling extremely guilty over winning their respective boyfriends and feeling they’ve wronged their competition.
Wonder if this trend will be reciprocated on Anna’s end or if she’ll remain an otter constantly receiving jabs.
Hmm, on the one hand Tsukinoki picking Komari up along with some quality BL audio to listen to is nice and thoughtful. On the other hand, she also admits that she knew Komari had feelings for Tamaki for a while but just thought Komari would never confess to him.

Cute wrap-up episode (I assume) to Komari’s arc, seeing her interactions with fellow introvert Nukumizu from trying to avoid interacting with others and both of them choking on their food was fun. She never directly answers if Tamaki had feelings for her, part of me feels like the answer is no but I can see her wanting to keep it private regardless of his response.

Only 2 episodes left now, I’m curious to see what’ll happen: how much more will Yanami eat? Will any more characters be revealed to have somewhat creepy stalking tendencies? Will the zombie girl ever dress appropriately? So many questions.

Her first love might not have been successful but at least it didn’t end in disaster and she’s still friends with Shintaro and Koto. This could’ve gone so much worse for the three of them.
I won’t deny it, seeing Shikiya asking Tiara to meow was something that left me… let’s say “heart racing” (I wanted to say something else, but that’s better lol).
I think it made perfect sense to have focused on Komari in this festival arc, not only because of the literature club issue, but because her development was enormous, as she said herself, being rejected hurts, but above all she had fun in that environment and Koto and Shintaro played a fundamental part in these moments.
I also agree with everything Nukumizu said, in fact this shows a bizarre tendency for people who observe several love affairs to know how to advise others about it, maybe that’s why I identified with him in this sense lmao
