Kind of curious how they keep making 9S even after realizing he’ll always “know too much” so he has to die. Time and time again, the poor guy dies until this “loop” when 2B died I guess.
First it was the Resistance then it was Pascal and the kids and now it’s Popola’s turn. All aboard the the Depression Express. Choo choo!
I can’t take this anymore…
Devola and Popola make their final stand in fending off the machines and then shove 9S into the tower as the door closes.
It got me when Popola said her and her sister have to atone for the sins they committed instead of running away to safety. That and how the narrator said they’ve been always apologizing with Popola apologizing to Devola as they’re severely injured.
The reveals and twists just never end in this anime. Learning of certain character’s history brings great depth and helps build a connection with the viewer as you sympathize for failure that may have been out of their control. It also makes the endings much more difficult to watch and accept. Simply excellent.
Thought I was running low on tears but, of course, I find myself wiping away tears as I watch.
I’d like to say it can’t get sadder but I’m no longer fooling myself. I expect the last two episodes to hurt but look forward to them as I believe it will be amazing.
What a watch, this is anime is no longer in contention for best of the season but best of the year for me. I hope many more give it a chance as it a great example of what makes me love anime so much.
I think Devola and Popola got hoed. That project sounded near impossible to work, and yet, the twins had to take on that guilt when it wasn’t really their fault.
I am gonna sue Yoko Taro ass for giving me depression for 22 episodes straight

So at the end we only have three characters left in this series, well five if you count the pods and maybe six if the tower ends up being a character. Although judging the mental state of 9S and physical state of Devola I don’t think either of them will make it.
I can’t wait for the final episodes, I have no idea how this is going to end (haven’t played the game)
Devola and Popola’s scenes broke my heart, especially that last one. Okay Yoko Taro, I’m ready. End it. We can’t suffer anymore if it’s all over.
I can’t believe the lore drop 2 games like that. I think they keep recreating 9S because everyone units need a duo. Kinda like Popola and Devola, so they can rely on each other, physically and emotionally, make them closer to be human.
This is truly the endgame when we only have 2 androids left alive.

This anime is getting better with each episode, such a complex and deep plot. The Pods seem to become more and more important, despite the vain warnings of 153 to 9S. For a moment I almost hoped that Devola and Popola would also enter the Tower…
