      I like fanservice but it’s obviously trashy so I can’t argue with someone putting it at the bottom lol. Ara Ara is top tier though.

      I’m neutral on fan service, but she’s 110% right about the Rosario + Vampire anime. That adaptation was an actual crime against humanity.

      Ngl, I disagree with rosario vampire.

      I fucking swear that manga was just monster of the week, then he takes off the main girls cross and she goes sicko mode on the enemy and the entire situation is resolved.

      I agree on the fact that Rosario was pure garbage in terms of fanservice. Just some random pantsu flash… and of a girl that is mentally infantile. Shinmai Maou is where the good fanservice is at.

      Now I’ve got to ask, is Highschool DxD considered only Fanservice ? I seriously liked the story and fights, the fanservice is here it’s true (a lot) but is it that bad in this special case ? (Also Asia Argento for the win)

      Going to be honest, I don’t even see “poof my clothes are gone.” a lot. That’s like a hentai thing.

      It’s usually panty flashes or boobs going all over the place.

      I think it varies. At least for the fan-service. I’m a harem reader, and I’ve seen a lot of fan-service in my time. There needs to be more “tasteful ways” at times. Obviously there are manga that are nothing but fanservice like the tawawa on monday. But even then it’s done “right”

      for example like the 5 quintuplets They’re all beautiful ladies, but the fan service in that manga, was “Logical” as in that the reasons that arose/happened cause fanservice to occur, not having fanservice occur for sake of fan-service. IT has to be “Tasteful” for example half naked why? Oh because they’re at a hot spring that makes sense. Ichika wearing a tight tiny top, because she’s playing in well a “horror movie”

      Stuff like that.

      But sometimes, some fanservice is just poorly throughout or just really ruins the vibe if you’re trying to be “serious” like the Fire Force with Tamaki’s “perverted luck” sure there is a “lore reason” but it doesn’t make sense when you’re trying to be serious and this girl becomes randomly naked for sake of naked. There are a few times when the “luck of hers” does occur during non-serious moments which is fine, but during serious moments when she’s fighting it hurts the vibe dude. 10 outta 10 times.

      Fanservice is a “skill” that needs to be mastered like other tropes in anime/manga. When done correctly it works, when done incorrectly it hurts the story badly.

      I’ve never really been bothered by fan service, doesn’t really phase me.

      But.. here’s my opinion.

      Fan service is perfectly fine as long as it has a reason to happen or the scenario which led to it, not just a random 0% to 200% moment.

      In my opinion.

      RosarioxVampire, the fan service itself is pretty tame.. The main problem is how OFTEN it happens, how ridiculous the fan service can be and how it just completely overshadows other critical moments, just constant fanservice after fanservice which ruins basically everything else.

      Fire Force suffers this too.. All from one girl..

      This is just my opinion though!
      I don’t really care about fan service, if the show has got good characters, story, world building etc..

      Fan service isn’t just specific to women/men naked. As the name suggest, it should service the fans in any way. Giorno doing the DIO pose in the final traitor’s requiem opening is a fan service for Jojo fans for example. Dragon ball being referenced to other media in any way is a fan service for dragon ball fans

      i first saw this post with no audio and thought maybe its a guy voice, turned on the audio and hear a girl voice with a thick accent
