Damn, Akane! Girl was kinda smooth. Didn’t expect her to hit Hayato with that proposal. I was thinking she’d ask him for a kiss or something like that. She’s playing for keeps!

Passive aggressive Kiku was hilarious. Shoulda hit the guy with “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” haha.

We’ve met like 4 of the grandmas including Hayato’s. We gonna meet the last 2?

It was fun to see Hayato’s grandpa and all the grandmas in the past. The past really is repeating itself with Hayato and the girls.

    2. If it were any other indecisive harem MC, Akane’s grandma would’ve ended them right there and then. Good thing Hayato’s not only well-spoken but also treats his future options seriously.

    3. Akane has the biggest brain out of all these girls. Birthday gift? Nah. Marriage certificate? Hell yeah.

    4. Oh no, in all the craziness of the past few episodes, Hayato forgot Shiragiku’s birthday! But it’s the perfect excuse for a day outing with Akane to shop for a gift! And he definitely needs her help picking something out (even if Akane has mixed thoughts about helping him pick a gift for another girl)!

As if they didn’t have enough financial setbacks, now Hayato is broke because of all the doors they broke from the inn. Poor guy.

People get embarrassed telling the person they like it’s their birthday! Which is why Akane was trying to be subtle about it and just find excuses for Hayato to treat her that day because it was also HER birthday. Good thing he figured it out in time, though as far as gifts there’s one thing she wants from him more than anything else…his hand in marriage. And she’s serious!

Okay, so Kiku isn’t completely okay that he forgot her birthday, but at least he got her something and they can celebrate her and Akane together, right? And hey, maybe she can get a promise of considering her as his bride from Hayato too.

Ouka’s Christmas uniforms for the girls are absolutely cute! Santa Girls have descended upon Cafe Familia! It’s just too bad Akane and Hayato are caught up in him seriously responding to her proposal to care.

Oh no! Akane and Hayato got kidnapped! And instead of going to the police, Ouka goes straight to Ami…who piggyback carries her with a siren on her head all throughout the neighborhood. Santa Girl in the prowl for criminals they never found! Poor Ouka.

Akane looks amazing in traditional Japanese clothing, and she gets that from her grandmother, Youko, who was the Akane of the 1960’s version of Cafe Familia and remembers Hayato’s grandfather and his ladykiller ways all too well. Which is why she wants to gauge Hayato’s feelings and his intentions towards her granddaughter, even if it means holding him at katana point.

So Akane’s family is…a lot, but at least that doesn’t discourage Hayato’s interest in her. But they can’t seriously consider marriage without seriously considering their families, and Hayato isn’t completely against joining Akane’s family or being with her. She’ll just need to make him fall for her so much he can’t think of anything else, and she’s happy to do so!

Sachiko was the last girl to join the original Cafe Familia and all the girls’ grandmothers’ were basically just them! Ouka’s designed the outfits, Riho’s was the sassy one, and Kiku’s also got easily drunk. But they welcomed Sachiko with open arms as one of their own. And she had some pretty strong Main Heroine energy even down to being voiced by Akari Kito.

Next week: Riho episode! And reuniting her with her parents?

    5. Lmao bro forgot everyone birthday. Worst boss ever. 😂 we FINALLY got an Akane episode, best girl no debate. One of my fave recent Goddess Cafe episodes no doubt. Just always feel like the chemistry between she and Hayato is so natural and they feel like the only proper adult relationship of any of the girls. All their interactions are mature and sound like an actual real life relationship.

The shopping date was cute, but I liked how Hayato handled meeting Akane grandma the most. Instead of getting all flustered or being nervous he just stuck to his convictions and even someone like her had no choice but to respect him, just like she respected his grandfather.

Glad they explored some of the realistic aspects of marriage too, it ain’t just a romantic fairy tale, it’s a business decision that can alter the trajectory of an entire bloodline especially in Japan. Would Hayato marry into her family or vice versa, either way someone leaves behind something. Akane’s strategy of making Hayato fall so deeply in love that none of that matters is a winning one methinks ❤️

The comedy wasn’t too over the top in this one, just some serious relationship building between my two faves and I loved it. We’re also gradually getting all the grandmothers from the original cafe now show up in present day which is cool

    6. Dude just forgot two girls birthdays lol, at least he tried to redeem himself. Interesting to see another coffee member, which consequently led to a mini arc for Akane (apparently each episode will be a mini arc from now on), it was cool to see that they tease each other with marriage proposals, but are very considerate about it. And about Ami and Ouka, the comic relief of this episode

This is why Akane’s considered to be the best girl. She’s not hesitant, she’s open with her feelings for Hayato, and she takes initiative in pursuit of him.

[Good for Hayato for remembering Akane’s birthday](https://i.imgur.com/j7Hdu4w.png) even if it was last minute. It would’ve been waaaaaaaaaay worse if they were in the middle of Kiku’s belated surprise birthday celebration and someone else said that today was Akane’s actual birthday.

[It’s always fun how direct the girls are in this show.](https://i.imgur.com/S0Q9JUS.jpeg) Unlike other shows, You can’t stop them from being honest with their feelings, but this puts Hayato in a terrible spot since three are openly in love with him. [And then there’s Ami who just wants to be included.](https://i.imgur.com/GRDNz87.jpeg) xD

[Hayato finally gets to meet Akane’s grandma](https://i.imgur.com/JYTG7EF.jpeg) and out of all the grandmas she’s definitely the most aggressive so far. [I feel like Granny Youko is definitely taking out some of her anger from Masahiro on Hayato](https://i.imgur.com/fxu2Ceu.jpeg) during that scene. I guess the only ones we haven’t met yet are Kiku and Riho’s grandmas.

I’m glad we get to see [more flashback scenes from the 60s](https://i.imgur.com/0QfiQ0j.jpeg) when Masahiro’s coffee shop Familia was at its peak. It’s pretty much the same with how it is now down to [Kiku’s grandma being a touchy-feely drunk.](https://i.imgur.com/wDhtKmf.jpeg) It does make me wonder why [an heiress like Youko would work in a coffee shop.](https://i.imgur.com/fkFqjdL.jpeg)
